Why would you be more inclined to trust a completely anonymous entity (a delegate) over a registered company running a centralised service?

Sorry, didn't realise I was digging up a dead thread :)

For the sake of devils advocate - who is going to want to use a faucet which forces you to give away personal details? I wouldn't even dream of giving my phone number to a bitcoin faucet.

What is the reasoning behind that requirement?

We could really do with a FAQ on how developers should handle wallets where they hold customer funds, so that exchange owners and the like can get all the info they need in one place.

Cheers, Paul.

Code: [Select]
blockchain_market_list_shorts USD returns loads of shorts, but
Code: [Select]
blockchain_market_order_book USD BTSX returns none.

I don't think everyone would wish to release the source to their DACs.

They might as well, since the DAC will run on anyone's machine it will just get disassembled anyway if there's no source.

Yes. Volume measurements are always given in the base asset.

You're right - I was confused.

Yes, to get fc to interpret the enum name as the appropriate value, it must be enclosed in double-quotes. This is a quirk of how we do the argument parsing (everything is JSON) and there's no good way to fix it.

Why not just auto enclose all parameters in quotes when they're received?

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9587.msg115919;topicseen#new

edit: be reminded that the current engine is slightly different and will hardfork to the rules above soonish (tm)
the difference now is that shorts are prioritized by collateral .. as of later they will be by interest rate payed

Thanks - although I was more after the part which explained exactly what the pricing rule was for shorts and how that worked against the market feed average.

I understand this is all subject to change - just would be nice to have an official explanation of the 'now'. :)

Today, blockchain_market_order_book RPC call isn't listing any shorts for the BTSX/USD market. Previously it was fine and I was getting short_order and cover_order types. Today, I only have cover_order.

The command line for blockchain_market_order_book *is* showing shorts, but I have no idea where it is getting this information from, as it isn't coming back from the RPC call.

Looking at the web_wallet in github, it seems this RPC isn't used. Is it fully working?

Cheers, Paul.

AFAIK, the shortwall is just the collection of all shorts in the order book because all shorts have the same price (the price feed)

Oh wow, ok - is this documented anywhere that you know of?

I can't find a reference to what the short wall is?

There is a massive buy order called the short wall right now in BTSX/USD market at the top of the book.

1829
In real life I tend to think like you, but in blockchain_market_order_history 'short order' is actually a buy order for BTSX.

Hmmm, and I take it then, cover must be a sell?

Is there any deeper explanation of why this seems to be backwards?

1830
Well, I ask because looking at blockchain_market_order_history, I've got 'short_order' appearing in 'bid_type', which doesn't make any sense to me, since a short order is a sell order and bid is buy....?
