General Discussion / Re: Cryptofresh Block Explorer [alpha]

Nice work.

Can you list in the profile page, i.e. http://cryptofresh.com/u/fav the referred accounts, "openledger-reg created account albertus79 thanks to fav"?

Very nice! Good luck and wish to see many headlines in crypto media about how many VCs are interested in your company  +5% nice logo, now update your avatar  :P

I would love to update my avatar.. but the forum won't let me.. something wrong with the write permissions.. I have already contacted @fav about it.
You just have to host your own avatar and point to it, choose "Specify avatar by URL"

BunkerChain Labs, Bonne chance!

There was an issue with passing cookies via cross origin domain requests.
It's fixed now and you should be able to refer people to bitshares.org (root or any path inside) and your referrer will count for both bitshares.org/wallet and bitshares.openledger.info wallets.
Great!  +5%

First 2.0 referral program is up and running.
In order to participate you need to refer users to bitshares.org, openledger.info or bithsares.openledger.info domains and pass your account name (account needs to be a lifetime or annual member) via r= parameter.
You will collect either 60% (for lifetime referrer account) or 30% (annual member) of all fees paid by each user that registers by your link.
Example of a valid link:
Code: [Select]
https://bitshares.org?r=youraccountname

Nicely done guys!

Going to https://bitshares.org?r=yourREALLIFETIMEaccountname

and clicking on "online wallet" is creating an account with :

Fee Allocation
Network   20%
Lifetime Referrer   (openledger-reg)   30%
Registrar   (openledger-reg)   50%
Affiliate Referrer   (openledger-reg)   0%

@fav  @valzav  amongst others.

PS
 IE
clicked enter code (or something like that before registering)
Except: https://Bitshares.org/wallet?r=youracct
Except: my way, is how it was posted by valzav....
And he did not mention "or something like that[and/or very similar] should work"  :P

tonyk brings up the point that a link to the website using bitshares.org?r=affiliatecode the affiliate code appears not to pass into the wallet if a user selects Online Wallet (affiliate code not in url).
We will work out a referral program for bitshares.org that will see to it you get rewarded downstream by forwarding the r=? args to the partner sites that the user eventually selects.
Referrals to the website should carry the affiliate code to the wallet as some users will want some info before they jump right in. It would be nice to have the option to refer users to the website and not just directly to the wallet.

@valzav thanks for getting the referral system off the ground!

I just lost all my bts because I was margin long in polo.. :'(
That is the pain you feel when you support blindly something I suppose instead of day trading like most people..
The luck of support at these levels is just so disappointing..
:(

I said a million times that margin wasnt safe.  Its horrible that you lost everything mf-tzo, hope you at least have some left.

I feel like polo margin ruined BTS.  I tried it some and got hurt by it too, but managed to cover at a loss a couple times when things were starting to go down so I never got liquidated or anything, just lost some bts.  I should never have used it.  I probably wouldve also gotten liquidated on this drop if I'd had a margin position there, but luckily I got burned enough earlier on and stopped.

I feel like I'm pretty much done with crypto at this point.  If good projects like BTS can get shit on this hard by everyone while they pump stupid crap.  There is no sanity in the market.  BTS was one of the only projects that could hope to become profitable and actually be worth holding, but it got dumped to hell.

I'll just hold a few remaining btc, and my bts and muse and brownies forever and come back a while later and see if they are still worth anything.  There is no point selling them now.   Maybe try to buy a few more btc if it has a dip.

I'm in the same boat as you Ander. Woke up to see a message on my phone that I got margin called. Lost 25 BTC. Maybe I will comeback in the future. Good luck guys.

Holy shit, we're losing people left and right. Fucking nuts. I feel for you guys. How depressing...margin truly has killed us.

Why isn't the referral system working yet? Why haven't the devs proactively helped BTC38/yunbi yet? Where do the million other promises/announcements stand? Bond market? Prediction? Stealth transfers? Bingo? Partnerships?

Just what the hell's going on?

And the most basic of basic things flubbed for so many of us...
I never got my 2.0 BTS synced and imported.

Technical Support / Re: No Affiliate System at launch

In case anyone missed this announcement...

Affiliation system, referral codes and residual income for life

and on top of all, you will be abel to join an affiliation system and start making money on the base of a special referral code from coming week as well! That is, of course if you have the interest of sprading the news to anyone you feel could be interested and start making money on their fees spent on platform. A nice little kick to it all!

Here is how your own referral link should look like: https://bitshares.openledger.info?r=(your account name here)

Honestly, I think this has a lot to do with the fact that the tech isn't quite as grand as promised, I love what bitshares is doing but if the user experience was more polished from the start we would probably not be seeing such a dramatic drop, overall as we all work to improve the experience for users and administrators, lower the learning curve and increase the adaptability the price will rise again to historic levels.

We have a great foundation to build upon; the future of this enterprise is bright.

i think the affiliate systems already works (look at dacplay), but openledge gives nothing back.

Yea I am aware of that, and it is truly disappointing. That wasn't what was 'planned' from the June announcement, it wasn't what was told to us by Bytemaster or valzav and it is surely should be a concern for the community as the referral system was supposed to be the springboard to get more users and a reward to those who use their energy to promote the system. DacPlay was somehow able to figure out how to get referral links credited correctly in a matter of days after seeing the new system, it is a wonder why the developers chose not to have had it implemented from the get go or at the least have it implemented it in a timely manner. With all the link and banner traffic I am sending to OpenLedger, feels more like a money grab than a referral system.

Small edit, 3 times you use a dash (user-issued) and 3 times you do not include the dash (user issued).

Technical Support / Re: Any tips for importing large 0.9.3c wallet?
« on: October 28, 2015, 10:02:08 pm »
The web wallet will soon get an upgrade that you can see in the "workers" branch that should improve performance when importing keys. A couple days of patience then I guess we will all be able to import our massive wallets (yes I'm also unable to import my main wallet)
Soonish?

I'm having the same problem, My large wallet is missing the balance and doesn't import.
Testing of fix has started...

The sell-off is possibly connected to paying for this...

Nathan is working on Follow My Vote

Soon BitShares will also support proxy voting for UIAs  (Thanks Follow My Vote)

@data who is someone else you think should be acknowledged? I am sure your name will come up (cough cough, in the op :P) so there is no need to plug here. Trust me this is only "phase one" and you are already on the list :P
Also the creator and maintainer of bitsharesblog who was dooling out the witnesses of the months awards and who has had an eye on everything going on since day one:

mint chocolate chip (used to be bitsharesblog)
Appreciate it @DataSecurityNode

You could always use the filtering tool to reduce the amount of keys in your json file, I posted a guide for it yesterday.
@svk
Thanks, I had already seen that, but those steps are way out of my league. The part where you mentioned that that was a potential foundation for an easy to use fix built into the old or new wallet was nice to hear though.
