MemoryCoin / Re: MMC GPU mining is super profitable!
« on: December 31, 2013, 06:19:26 pm »
There's no way to lock out gpus completely, the only possibility is making it as hard as possible for them.
PTS and MMC are doing pretty good there, with a maximum of 10x more speed. Have a look at what the difference is for other coins and you will see that's a huge improvement.

Developing ASICs for PTS and MMC won't be profitable for a long while, so people can still earn some coins with their CPUs - and that's what it really is about.

Last report of 2013:
- Official website www.memorycoin.org has recieved some love. More content will follow soon
- We got a bot on irc to have a quick lookup of relevant information
- Made our first connections to chinese and russian subforum. Translations pending.
- Some people from the community made great efforts and just have been rewarded where addresses could be found. A total of 830 MMC has already been sent out, another 225 are waiting for their new owners. 11 persons contributed something we considered worthy - there's still room left for some more! If you are interested in the task we are working on and want to help out, message me!

Isaac said he'll care about it.
He is pretty busy with a lot of stuff, I'm sure you can make a deal with him and belltown if you want to contribute to the subreddit!

MemoryCoin / Re: Hey, Mining MMc Or?
« on: December 29, 2013, 11:10:54 am »
It's not that easy :D
You need to change MMC -> BTC -> PTS if you wish to do that.

At the moment it's more like 10 MMC -> 0.008 BTC -> 0.3 PTS
But as your MMC will be gone no one can tell you if it's a good idea to do that now ;)

Isaac...I know you want that office. As you know I think you could be a good choice because I think you're a collaborative person, and we need officers working together to reach the most possible.
But, man, it's really getting annoying to see you begging on every post. Keep on working and votes will come, no need to spam that around!

Good that someone took the initiative - it probably would be great if the officers knew who you are, so they can support you (information, reward, help)!

Please contact CMO or me.

There's one thing which should be obvious, but it seems like I have to mention it:

I'm looking for people willing to cooperate with others!
We do not need someone who can't integrate in a team, ignores what's been worked out already, doesn't keep up to date with our plans, starts unnecessary projects or something he knows someone else is already working on just to "earn" a bigger share of the rewards.

Everyone is free to contribute what he thinks may be necessary. If you want to be rewarded for your work, talk to me before you start. Otherwise it may happen that your work is not regarded to be as useful as you thought it was.

In other (not completely unrelated) news: the list of official supporters has been reduced by one.

General Discussion / Re: Memory Coin MME stake for PTS holders
« on: December 29, 2013, 01:32:06 am »
You don't have to follow anything if you keep your coins in your wallet - you could come back in 2 years and have a look which DACs you have a stake in. There's no way to notify you, so if you don't care about it yourself nothing will happen. The shares you got at release are waiting for you, but you have to collect them yourself.

Price of BTC is volatile already, so that's no reason to build on top of it.
You don't know what happens in the future, maybe BTC will be replaced by something advanced.
By using an own blockchain we're on the safe side and not dependent on the fate of BTC.

To address your other point - why should people holding BTC but not supporting further development benefit from it?
