General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion
« on: January 14, 2016, 03:26:16 am »
Now NXT is on fire... I wonder how long until we fall out of the top 20?

Why? That doesn't make much sense imo. It's all pumps. Guess where the volume comes from? That's right, China again.

I think the question is more like "I wonder how long ultil we get pumped?" Given the news on how the chinese markets are I wish this is a sign of more coming in. They're just pumps but hopefully they can revive the alt coin scene.

If these pumps continue until March, if we don't get one in the meanwhile, we'll get one then due to STEALTH. It's just another reason for them to pump bts.

Still, in the long run this doesn't really mean anything unless it's a sign more chinese money is coming in.

No one care about STEALTH enough to risk their money to pump it .

+5% Congrats

I think there could be a good market for TCNY/TUSD this year?

CNY is 4% weaker vs. USD in the last 2-3 months.

If that trend continues a lot of Chinese people would really like exposure to TUSD?

be practical . Not a lot of Chinese people will like to be exposed to a crypto token that's rely on several people(I'm referring to those who give people the impression that if they walk away and BTS will go to zero ) to keep it running  , or lack of liquidity .
It's a fun experiment .
I would rather expose myself to cold hard USD cash .

When I was holding Ethereum everyone complained about Ethereum and that's why I sold. When I bought into Bitshares everyone complains about Bithsares. I don't see the difference.

Wouldnt Bitshares be a good candidate to promote other than those random no use shit coins?
For sure .. do you speak Mandarin?
We do have a large Chinese community as well .. but it seems most of them have lost patience and left ..

Step back and do a read up and google on Bitshares as if you don't know anything about it. Reputation is devastated and there is a number of people not only "not liking" but straight away "hating" bitshares. I can imagine this will be the same in the mandarin part of the I-net, if not even worse - given the venom spiten around until some months ago from some chinese accounts. This is of course a concern for the literate investor (and for a reason) even though he maybe still comes here and gets a different impression.

not everyone complain ethereum .
also , you should sold according to the price/profit/lost/capital activity,  not according to what people said .

buy low and sell high is the key .

+5%   Now TCNY can be deposited in BTC38 as fiat .

TCNY is also a pegged asset , not IOU .

bitcoin's reputation was bad , until capital come in and convince people that's good .
many bitcoin promoter now was bitcoin haters . Capital finally convinced them otherwise .

If bitshares price rise 20X , no one even care about who BM is or what he has done .
Most coins on coinmarketcap in the top 20 had a bad rep at once .

So the real question is , is the coin capital friendly ?
If Bitcoin wasn't paying for the miners , but paying to the core developers , Bitcoin may have more function than it is today , but it will have a much smaller marketcap . Because capitals couldn't fairly participate in the system by the amount of capital they're willing to risk in that model .

Lost patience in what we have a working decentralized exchange. we are at the Genesis of Bitshares and they have the opportunity to get in at the ground floor, Ethereum doesn't even have a Gui interface yet and they have over a 70 million dollar market cap. We are leap and bounds ahead of Ethereum . I only speak English

I'm sure when you sell your coins on centralized exchange for BTC/fiat , no one asks you for a GUI interface . As long as it's a token that can be traded , that's good enough for capital .

I think the price of BTS will rise . New capitals are coming in , and they didn't know how BTS operates .
And I also know when it start to rise , there will be a lot of worker proposal coming out , to develop this and that , to do big things that's supposely add value to BTS , and in the end those features will add zero revenue to BTS in a considerable long future if you can follow the pattern .

And the capital will feel the random selling pressure out of the blue and and start to understand how BTS operates .

So my estimation is , BTS will rise , and the rise will be ended too early if we still dance around the same act .

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: *CI/UI/UX Design / Web Development - cass
« on: January 13, 2016, 06:06:32 am »
Cass is a long-time contributor & delivers great work that every BTS-related website reuses... you've got my support!

Voters who are skeptical should consider that they can still revoke their votes for the worker later.. but a decision to not vote is final.. so at least give him a few weeks to get to full speed and show what he can do! @jakub @bitcrab @fav

i remember xeroc said once the worker voted in , even if you withdrew the votes , the workers will still be in ?

or was he talking about parameter change ?

I i can understand that @abit is hesitating to vote for cass since most of cass's work is not easily linkable to him. However I can tell with certainty that cass is one of the most engaged (and most loyal) member of thos community. He is one of the few that saw people like toast and vikram came and go and is still considered a HUGE win for us.

Hoenstly, if we can pay those people, how could we EVER attract developers that work for us independent of CNX?

can ---- can't

I choose none of them.

I think my words maybe too hard to be accept by some people, but I want to express my opinion, I will not choose BTS because the BTS and BM have a bad reputation, this give no confidence to the people. it's hard to build business on it now, recently when I introduce the BTS to some crypto people in china, they say hey I knew it, it's a scam, not decentralized, the developer just want more money, I know this is not true, but it's hard to persuade them even if we have a fantastic product.

maybe you will laugh at this people, but this is the real world, a sccessful bussiness need these people.

it's nothing wrong with wanting money . everybody need money.
but it's wrong to think that people will give you endless money on your terms while there are tons of solution out there and only a fraction of capital for these solutions .

Technical Support / Re: OL wallet is too slow
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:12:01 am »
I sometimes experience really annoying lag with light wallet or OL web wallet. If I use full node on my side, this problem has gone.
So I conclude that the connection between my side and OL or the performance of OL server is the cause.

General Discussion / Re: exchange preparing for voting

Seeing 60m bts voting for zero witnesses does not inspire me with confidence in the knowledge or commitment of those voting.  If you have bts at yunbi, be aware.

I'm withdrawing mine.  Can't use Yunbi anymore, i guess.  Too bad.

BTC38 has 500 million BTS now

re: Dogecoin

It was popular in the US before, but doesn't seem as active here anymore.  Oddly enough China seems like the big player.  Nearly 70% of the price spike volume was coming from BTC38.

Here is a thread on how Doge might have been introduced to many in China: https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/3o2t5x/dogecoin_and_china/

People are familiar with Doge in China and that's huge.  There might even be a cultural connection with the Shiba Inu..lol

BTW a small amount of Dogecoin popped up in my BTC38 account so there might be a marketing push going on right now.....maybe they are giving people Doge, spreading the word and helping pump up prices..  Anyways China markets are getting crushed and crypto is generally a good safe haven asset anyways and so it's a good opportunity to promote Doge this way.

Can someone from China comment?  BTW what is going on with the Yuan?  It seems the government is trying to support it by selling a lot of US dollar reserves.  There seems to have been massive debt money created the last few years in China as well and a lot of it is probably going bad...anyways.

Takeaway?  It seems China is very important.

doge marketing is good . but the capital that supports it is more important . especially those LTC miners who get doge on the way. the liquidity on doge is huge compare to bitshares .

if not capital support it , you can advertise it all you want , all people will see that it's not worth involving in it .

Bitcoin  and  doge are where it is today because of capital , not because of some freedom lovers and cute dog lovers .,

in fact , bitshares is as famous as doge in China . but bitshares is famous for its dilution now .

alt coins normally don't allow to issue more coins at will/shareholders'vote  , even mining requires hardware/factory investment that is not easily sold .

capital like that . otherwise , it will become ATM for the devs(whoever they're , which company they'are).no capital is stupid enough to be the ATM of some guy they didn't know who only put up  intelligence other than risky investment .

unrelated info , BTC38's reputation was hurt badly by the DNS merger .

I think exchanges should have a say in bitshares .  because they sell BTS to people , if BTS screw with the users and investors , exchanges will be hurt more and maybe even legally responsible .

those who don't wish exchanges vote with their stake , just withdraw it .
