Neat idea, created a couple quick graphs above to explore the price impact.

What do you think about volatility indexes for the most popular smart assets?

Not bad. Have you made a steemit post here? https://steemit.com/trending/bitshares

Thanks. Not at the moment, not.

I've tried to create a steemit account, but it requires a mobile phone number. This goes strictly against our whole ideology of the CITADEL - which is to use cryptographic and web-of-trust methods to gain reputation and respect; not by giving away personal information to unknown entities.

https://blocktrades.us/create-steem-account
https://anon.steem.network/

You can buy an account via the above, after changing the master password you'll have full control of the account.

Forcing people to upgrade their computers/OSes is not something we have any particular interest in.

To be fair, eventually older operating systems which don't receive windows updates become highly vulnerable. It's likely that most XP machines won't get meltdown/spectre fixes for example.

Does the project have a website or anything useful like that? I want to learn about the project without having to sift through a morass of telegram spam.

Anything specific you want to know?

The readme mentions Windows XP, you're not still using XP right? Time to upgrade or switch to Linux? :D

How does this relate to Bitshares?

that commit mainly changes the warning/skip levels ets...

seems to be a bigger issue in play here..

Does it work for you?

I've not had any feedback from witnesses regarding hertz integration into xeroc's price feed script, it looks like the pull request has been merged by @xeroc, perhaps blockchaind (rudex) are using this repo and can provide input on this matter? I use the stand alone price feed script for hertz.

Hey Customminer,

Trying to use: https://github.com/xeroc/bitshares-pricefeed/blob/master/bitshares_pricefeed/examples/hertz.yaml until I sort out my own pricefeed solution and I get the following error:

AssertionError: You cannot provide a 'price' this way

Are there any adjustments needed to the pricefeed code?
Have you implemented this pull request? https://github.com/xeroc/bitshares-pricefeed/pull/32

I'm not sure why it's not been merged into the master branch yet..

What are your plans regarding publishing price feeds? What price feed script library will you use? Would you consider publishing feeds for Hertz?

Thanks, good luck becoming an active witness :)

Have you produced open source price feeds for price feed publishers to use?

596
Interesting. Github? How to become Witness?
AFAIK it's not fully open source yet, you can find out more on the whaleshares discord.

Have you considered publishing price feeds for Hertz via the btsprice integration yet? Looking forwards to additional price feed publishers  8)

No problem. We're ready.
Please vote for us.

Done :)

While I find @nasdaq's initiative applaudable, I'd still like to point out that these assets are by no means trustless. They still belong to their original issuer, and they still have many permissions set that would allow the issuer to rip off holders of these assets.

In that light I expect witnesses and committee members to be extra careful and take appropriate measures before supporting them.
The same applies to most of the committee owned/controlled smartcoins - the committee should set the standard & begin removing (entirely disabling) some of the more concerning flags/permissions.

Hey,

There's a new bitsharestalk forum which is currently running on the beta (pre-production) whaleshares (fork of steemit) network, you should check it out & join the bitsharestalk telegram channel (.io related, not an intended replacement of the main bitshares telegram channels).

Why the whaleshares network? Bitshares is receiving a 70% sharedrop of whaleshares, much better than the 0% sharedrop that Steemit performed (aka they didn't do that). The sharedrop date isn't confirmed yet.

What do you think of this idea? I think it will draw serious activity back to bitsharestalk, this forum has decreased in activity in the last year or so, plus being able to reward each other for posting about the Bitshares network is pretty cool, eh?

I think that in order to join the testnet you need to join the telegram channel and/or attend one of the Bitshares hangouts on saturdays.
