Make sure you know the difference between BitsharesX and Bitshares PTS.

Found out the difference lol but thank you. I have the BitShares X client running now. How would I go about mining? And thank you for the replies, guide and help it is much appreciated. 

You can't mine BTSX, you can promote yourself as delegate and if you get enough votes you will participate in block creation.
