Good initiative.

Brainwallet app does that already.

Can anybody compare linux clients for different pools? Which one is fastest?

If you're coming from Windows, Linux Mint or Ubuntu will work for you.

After some practice with Linux, you may test OpenSUSE or Fedora.

Good luck!

SSL certificate is easy to apply to the site, but it may result in 30min - 2hours down time. I will do a little bit later, maybe thanksgiving time.

More info and costs related to that task would be appreciated!

If this was cost effective, why would you share it?

Eheh yes it was very cost effective a few days ago; and I used it.
Now it is still cost effective, but less than before, and I'm switching to other coins.

Why do I look chinese?  ;)

Nice guide.

How do you exactly calculate cost effectiveness for that situation?

Any "automated" calculator available out there?

Either top or ideally htop (break down by thread)

Sorry pal.

I didn't get it.

Would you elaborate more on that please.

I'm a damn poor noobie...

'top' and 'htop' are both commands you can type in linux that will show you the processes that are running as well as more advanced info.

if you are running ubuntu or debian, and htop is not installed type: sudo apt-get install htop

Thanks for your patience!

I'm just gonna add one more (htop) software to my "ubuntu default must-have list".

And lets get going with this mining stuff!

We will get a real "frenesi" when PTS gets accepted by one of the 3 majors exchangers.

How do I see how many threads are currently running on coyote miner?

Which command to type in?

Is that possible yet?

P.s. I'm running on ubuntu.

@bytemaster

Have you ever pondered adding some ideas from Primecoin POW into Momentum POW?

Wouldn't anything be of some use in order to spare some energy and achieve more efficiency without giving away the advantages obtained already?

What do you think about their uncommon POW?
