Oh and btw I enjoyed Don Tapscotts presentation too!

I have become very fascinated with Tauchain ever since the interview that Matthew Zipkin did on Lets Talk Bitcoin.

Ohad, the creator of Tauchain presents all the arguments why it's is not a good idea to use a Turing complete language for smart contracts. Naturally, he shares his criticism against Ethereum. He says, that because Turing complete languages can produce both true and false conclusions at the same time, Turing complete languages are not ideal for smart contracts.

And he gets into the semantic web, by discussing the need for human readable programming languages for smart contracts so that more than just programmers can understand what the code is doing. specifically he mentions Notation3.

The only thing missing from Tauchain, is a mechanism for voting. Which is the one of the things that Bitshares has developed successfully.

I still keep an eye on Bitshares, but I've come realize despite all the bells and whistles that developers are trying to Implement.... the one thing that really defines the difference between Bitcoin and the rest...is the fact that Bitcoin Mobile Wallet Apps exist.

And until Bitshares has an iOS app and a Android app, I don't see any reason why I should get into Bitshares.

I enjoyed that past interview too! Arthur has a great interviewing style!

However, it looks like Arthur has moved on to specifically cover the Ethereum Platform - The Ether Review. Currently, The Ether Review has it's 3rd episode up on the Lets Talk Bitcoin network.

Technical Support / Re: New Tutorial Video - How bitUSD Works
« on: October 22, 2015, 01:54:59 am »
Ah yes. I see where I got confused.
0.004 dollars versus 0.4 cents

I would suggest an edit to introduce the value of the current Bitshares something like the following... "as you can see the price of Bitshares is 0.004 dollars or 0.4 cents"....
then continue using the 0.4 cents as I think it does make the value of Bitshares sound bigger.

by doing this, it prevents any viewers from getting confused like I did.

Keep the videos coming :)

Technical Support / New Tutorial Video - How bitUSD Works
« on: October 19, 2015, 01:05:51 am »
Good video.
However, one mistake made continually through the video - is the numbers quoted for the price of a bitshare. The video shows 0.004 and the narration is quoted as  "Zero Point Four" which is 0.4, not 0.004. Same goes for the second price. of 0.006

Once this is fixed, the video would be perfect.

Technical Support / "Getting Started" with Bitshares - Thanks Dogecoin.

Just had a look at Dogecoin's "Getting Started" page.

It's exactly what I've wanted to see Bitshares do, on their website.
It makes things so clear for the average person.

General Discussion / The 2.0 launch - lessons learned
« on: October 16, 2015, 02:46:29 pm »
There are definitely a lot of experts in the tech and economic fields in Bitshares, but their appears to be no expert teachers stepping up to show how it works to the AVERAGE non-coder, non-trader person.

I really hope an expert teacher will come along to produce a series of instructional videos to teach how the AVERAGE person can get into Bitshares -> from changing their fiat to crypto - >to setting up a Bitshares wallet -> to becoming a successful investor through the Bitshares Market. Teaching all the critical terminology/concepts of each step along the way.

I expected Bitshares TV to do this, however it only ended up being a buzz word marketing effort.

In my opinion Great Educational Resources along with Simple UX design are the most important factors for user adoption.

I shouldn't have to go to the help icon on the open ledger page to find out that the open ledger page has something to do with Bitshares.

Why does the openledger page not mention anything about setting up a wallet for Bitshares 2.0 ?

All it says on the page is to "open an account."

Open an account for what?

When there is lack of explicit information (Bitshares.openledger.info), people can be distrustful of the page they are on.

There isn't even a Bitshares logo on the openledger site.

I know I am being critical here.
But this stuff matters, to gain adoption.

Looks like the Online Wallet does not work with iOS browsers (I tried four - including Safari and Chrome).

:(

I'm currently running iOS 7.
