Technical Support / Re: OpenLedger Account gone/no backup, help?
« on: August 24, 2016, 12:42:58 pm »
write down the private key is the best way to recover your wallet.
I have backup .bin file, but still failed to restore as well.  all my bitshares gone in openledger.

Openledger / openledger: password not working
« on: April 26, 2016, 04:07:27 am »
When I opened my openledger account in April 13, i created a password, then copy and keep it in keepass of my local system.
I didn't verify it before I transfer bts to my openledger account, after the transfer, I realized that the password is not working.  So without the password, I'm essentially considered losing the private key to my account?

Even though I have backup the account to a .bin file, it still require password to open it.

thanks for replying.
I do not see any  BTS address for my open ledger account name.  When withdraw BTS from exchange, i need to provide a BTS address. (or I can just provide my open ledger name?)

The only BTS address I see in my openledger account is through "deposit/withdraw" tab, then Metaexchange bridge.
Do i miss anything?

Thanks in advance.

That's odd .. does the GUI work better after you have opened the wallet in the terminal version?
Do you get any error messages of some kind?
nope..stays the same.  once i input my passphrase and click unlock
seems to have a grey box appear and disappear very quickly, then no response.
and I dont seems to be able to anything with the GUI likes create new account
i checked the log, and didnt notice any error in p2p, rpc, blockchain, default log :(

+edit: i dont have any problem using the console with the commands, just GUI
probably can be resolved by re-install the windows client, but im lazy to do it now, I shall try again when there's a new version

i still cannot open my windows client wallet.
it was on 0.8, but when check for update, it shows no latest version.
i then checked in bitshares website and install the latest 0.9.2

i started the console version, bitshares_client.exe
there are active connections to the p2p network, and it is in sync.
type getinfo, it shows last sync. 8 sec.

but still i cannot open my wallet, same issue as in my first thread, after click unlock, seems to have one grey box appear but quickly fade away.
i cannot export my wallet too (maybe i still cannot unlock), it shows an error, and i have sent the report.
but i also cannot create new account, after click no response

General Discussion / Re: Now we are at the bottom.

because new BTS are being created in every blocks, the price going down is a norm, because more and more supply and demand stays the same.

Technical Support / how delegation/voting works?
« on: March 30, 2015, 02:44:43 am »
from http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/DPOS/ApprovalVoting
everytime, we make a transaction, we can vote for delegates

1) the delegates that we can vote, is among the 101 delegates that has been chosen?

2) how the 101 delegates being chosen?

3) the 101 delegates chosen, will be in charge for 101 blocks? then the new 101 will be chosen for the next 101 blocks? how are these 101 being chosen?

4) anyone can setup to become a delegate node?  you need to store BTS locally in the delagate node?
http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/Delegate/How-To
it seems that there is no minimum BTS required to setup and run delegate node?

thanks
