Technical Support / Re: Video Tutorials of using BitShares wallets
« on: June 14, 2015, 07:40:56 pm »
Because of the audio issue, I decided to re-make these video tutorials one by one. Here is the first one:
http://www.aboutbts.com/2015/06/aboutbts-video-tutorial1-how-to-downlaod-and-install-the-latest-bitshares-wallet-for-windows.html

Hope you like it and please give me feedbacks if you will.

Thank you so much!

Your first re-worked video tutorial works flawlessly!

Thanks again for your hard work and efforts, it's very much appreciated!

Peace.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

I'm still wondering why the price has dropped since the announcement?

IMHO...

announcements are only good for quick pump and dumps, without an actual product it means nothing, it's just hype to make quick profit off of for most day traders.

every small announcement from here until "this summer" will be met with this same small rise, dip leaving the price a little higher each time until we actually do reach "This summer" and some may even wait until after it has been released and proven for a few months before they start buying in.

Very reasonable POV.

The reason I use CNY is because the highest volume trade of BTS by far is in CNY, at btc38.

Thanks for your clarification on that, Ander. I appreciate (and understand) your rationale.

CNY not btc

Thank you, Permie! Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

So, just so I'm certain I'm clear on this, bitmeat was conversing & pricing BTS in BTC, while ander was conversing in CNY...? (Got it.)

Lordy, - gotta remind myself, we're swimming around in an international ecosystem! Very cool!

Thnx again, my friend, for the clarification.

My analysis says it will go down to 0.000020 - 0.000025 first. But you never know.

As far as cup/handle goes - there have been plenty of failed cup/handles on the way down.

I'm looking to buy hard if we have another drop to around .036.

Anyway, its not a completed cup and handle until we break .0527.

I'm really enjoying (and benefiting from) this discussion, so please excuse my question which probably has an 'obvious' answer that I'm just not picking up on, but, are all the above bts prices being noted in BTC?

The reason I ask is that right now, bts is sitting at about .00002951BTC/BTS (or $0.006301), so, bitmeat's comments noting BTS price range of .000020 - .000025, makes sense to me, we're talking BTS' "BTC price", but Ander's noted he's "looking for a drop to around .036"...?

I'm missing something. .036 is orders of magnitude greater than the current BTS price of .00002951BTC, so I'm a little confused.... How do we 'drop' from .00002951 'to' a .036...? Is that .036 price in BTCs? (What am I missing/not getting?)

Thanks for the clarification, and sorry if this has an obvious answer that I'm just not picking up on. (It's ok, you can blame it on my 'newbie' status.)

Thanks for the great discussion, and the clarification to my question, guys! I really appreciate it.

Peace.

Sorry for the inconvinience. I will re-make these video using new BTS wallet and get sound right.

If it's not asking too much, after you've had a chance to fix the Video Tutorials' audio, can you please shoot me a PM and/or put a post up letting us know all is good?

Thanks again, your efforts are very much appreciated!

Technical Support / Re: BTS vs. Other "Decentralized Asset Exchanges"

We (BTS) not only needs to be 'different', 'better', than all the others out there, but we need to be able to quickly and easily get that information/understanding into any and all newcomer's hands.
Yeah, this has been a problem. Essential information has been scattered on the website, wiki, forum, youtube videos, hangout recordings, etc. It has been a challenge to learn all the important things about Bitshares. On the other hand, this is somewhat understandable. Development has been fast and lots of different things has been tried.

I hope this is going to be changed when the 2.0 comes out. The new website is already a big step forward with clear explanations of the important features.

Yes, I understand. This is all part of being in on the ground floor of a new, innovative project. If we waited until everything was "perfect", - it would never happen. It's kinda like the chicken and the egg dilemma.

Either way, I'm happy to be on-board and can hopefully provide some useful input, support, and other benefits to the BitShares project as it continues to develop, grow, becomes more established, and ultimately blasts-off into the mainstream!

Peace.

Yes ^^ I know they had sound because I listen to all of them in the past. Even on Youtube there is no sound.

Thank you for verifying this as a legitimate problem and that I wasn't going nuts! :o

Have a good one!

Technical Support / No Audio with "Newbie Video Tutorials"
« on: June 12, 2015, 11:32:35 pm »
Hello,

I initially started this thread in the Newbie/Video Tutorial section.

After doing some further testing and investigation, I thought it should perhaps be placed (I copy/pasted it) into the Technical Support Forum to notify the Moderators of the problem I've been experiencing as it does not appear to be 'on my end'. (I apologize if it turns it to be on my end, but after doing some testing I'm fairly certain that it is not.)

Please refer to below copy/pasted thread from the Newbie/Video Tutorial forum.

Thank you.

UPDATE:

There is almost certainly something wrong with the Video Tutorials themselves with regards to audio.

I took the embedded YouTube links from several of the Video Tutorials themselves and went directly to YouTube to watch (and hopefully hear) the videos as they are directly from the YouTube website...

Result: No audio. Video plays beautifully, but there is no audio to be heard. If I click around on YouTube to watch other random videos, I have no problems, - audio is heard loud and clear.

(I'm a newbie here still trying to get comfortable and knowledgeable on the ins-and-outs of this forum, but I'll try to notify the forum's Technical Support and/or Moderators of my experiences.)

Hi guys,

Okay, what numb-nut newbie oversight might I be making here - I have no audio coming through with any of the videos I've tried to watch so far (5 videos so far with no audio coming through).

I've checked everything I can think of on my end, volume level settings, sound system is powered ON (duh), etc. and all is good.
I have no problem hearing audio through my system when I play a Youtube video, music through my Winamp player, etc. I'm just not getting any audio coming through with these Video Tutorials.

Can anyone offer any suggestions of what else I should check?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you much!

Thank you.

Hi fav,

What am I missing?

I've got my BTS client downloaded and running, it displays the account id number and name as I gave them to you, I've actually purchased some bts with it... what am I overlooking? (I went to your link at http://smarturl.it/aboutbts but it simply popped me over to the bitshares.org website and I wasn't sure what to do with that as I've already got the BTS Client downloaded and installed... what am I missing?)

Thanks for your help.
