Peerplays / Re: How to get PPY sharedrop for bts users ?
« on: June 13, 2017, 05:10:22 pm »
There is a pdf on the Peerplays website explaining what to do.

http://www.peerplays.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Howto-Claim-Your-PPY-Tokens.pdf

If you owned Bitshares on September 2, 2016 at 16:37 UTC then
you only need to read Section 2. I would advise caution though,
as the process involves entering your Bitshares private key to log in and make your claim.
You may want to read the "Security best practices for claiming BTS sharedrop in Peerplays?" thread on this forum.

On another note if you just want to see how many Peerplays are waiting
for you to be re-claimed you can go to https://peerplaysdb.com/ and
in the search box enter your Bitshares account name prefixed with
"bts-". So if your account name was "bobs_bitshares" you would search
for "bts-bobs_bitshares"

Hope this helps.

Would it be safer to create a new Bitshares account and
transfer your bitshares to that account? Then use the
private key of the original (now empty) account to claim
your Peerplays. If that private key gets compromised/revealed
to a third-party it doesn't really matter because the account
it controls is now empty.

Technical Support / Re: Migrating from 0.9.3c to Openledger Webwallet

Thanks xeroc

I didn't realize that.  My account name is now prefixed
with 'bts-' .  In 0.9.3c it used to be "OldAccountName" but now its "bts-OldAccountName".

When buying from Blocktrade should I use "OldAccountName" or "bts-OldAccountName"?

Thanks

Thanks chryspano

I've backed up my wallet now.

One last stupid question. Where do I find the public key for
sending bts to my account?  I've looked in 'Permissions' but
there seems to be three different keys there. Should I be looking
somewhere else?

I'll probably be buying some more bts soon from Blocktrade but I need
to suppy them with a public key.

Thanks

Thanks xeroc

Everything worked fine and I now have my bts transferred to
OpenLedger Webwallet.

Just one thing, I can't seem to find the wallet management console
so I can make backups.
I can only see 'Dashboard'  'Explorer'  'Exchange'   'Transfer'
across the top of the screen.  How should I access the wallet management console?

Thanks

Hi

I've exported my wallet keys to a .json file using 0.9.3c and now I
want to get started using Openledger webwallet.

On the initial screen of Openledger should I click on 'Create Account' or 'Existing Account'?

If  I choose 'Existing Account' do I then click 'Import from Bitshares 0.9.3c' and
then enter my old password from my 0.9.3c wallet?

Thanks

Technical Support / Re: Going From 0.9.2 to 0.9.3c

Thanks for the quick reply xeroc.

So I'll just run the the 0.9.3c installer and then import
my 0.9.2 wallet.

I've got a pretty recent blockchain backed up so I guess
I can just paste that in to the 0.9.3c chain folder to speed up
the sync.

Technical Support / Going From 0.9.2 to 0.9.3c

Hi
A quick question. I'm currently running 0.9.2 on Windows 7 and as I understand it
I need to first upgrade to 0.9.3c, export keys and then go to version 2.0.

Do I need to first completly uninstall 0.9.2 before installing 0.9.3c or is there
some way of just replacing the GUI and console executables and leaving
the blockchain and everything else as they are.

Thanks in advance.
