hello everybody

I have some open ledger assets trapped in my BTS account.

I've had an e-mail from support with instructions as to how to proceed. They read as follows:

<begin quote>

Hello OL DEX OPEN asset holder,
As first step in the process of settlement of any claims related to any OPEN assets held on your account on the BitShares network and as part of the compliance process connected with this, we ask you to send any and all of your OPEN assets for settlement to BitShares network account:

resolution

write in memo: your email address(important!!!)

<end quote>

now I am unsure of the Bitshares Network account. I've tried to send a payment to ccedkbts. however when I try and send the payment I get a sort of error message coming from the memo box. It says something like " the receiver won't be able to see this message" and the transaction won't send/complete.

Does anyone know why I'm seeing this message? And what can be done? And further is ccedkbts the correct username to send the assets?

I've tried to respond directly in the email back to support but no reply. Don't know if any human is reading this correspondence.

I would appreciate any help that people may be able to offer with this problem.

Hi everybody

I got a email from support saying that I should send the OL Open assets to the BitShares network account. And then go on to complete the KYC process.

I just wanted to check that this "address" was the same as before i.e. ccedkbts

Hi Everybody

I got an email from support with the following text:

<begin quote>

Hello OL DEX OPEN asset holder,

On behalf of OpenLedger ApS, I would like to first say how sorry I am for the situation, it is however the way it is and it is my aim to solve this matter soonest possible to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

First we would like to confirm your email and contact details have been received, your account has been checked and OPEN assets amount has been entered into our files for further use in future.

We are able to confirm that the amount listed as OPEN assets will be refunded in full as the respective value on external blockchains. Time for this settlement is expected to take place within the next 6-12 months, any exact time we are not able to disclose at least for the time being.

In order to settle the amount in question we will need you to be ready to pass KYC, more details about this process will be told soon.

Very important! make sure to have access to your account with the respective assets and create a wallet backup.

1) Very important!

Make sure to have access to your account with the respective assets and create a wallet backup (instruction is here https://openledger.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/33000227379-how-do-i-back-up-a-existing-wallet-).
Once you have created the wallet backup, you need then to import to wallet.bitshares.org, because the openledger.io (the OL dex official website) web-client access will be turned off shortly and then redirected to the
bitshares.org website.

<end quote>

Now (I think that) I don't have a openledger account per se. I've always used the https://wallet.bitshares.org to access my account and buy/store assets.

So does this mean that I don't have to create a wallet backup? Thus I only have to complete stage 2 i.e.:

<begin quote>

2) Send 1 BTS to confirm ownership but also to acknowledge to have read this e-mail!

<end quote>

General Discussion / Re: OL DEX closing all activities
« on: May 13, 2020, 05:39:46 am »
Hi there

I recently found out about the closure of the OL Dex. And alas I do have open assets in my Bitshares account.

I emailed support@openledger.io with my username, legal name as per instruction. However, I have not yet had a confirmation email.

I'd be grateful if you could let me know what I should do next. As it is getting dangerously close to the 15th May.

Hi everybody

I've got some BTS in a exchange wallet which I'm trying to send to my Bitshare.org wallet.

I see when I click on the deposit option in my Bitshares account it brings up a QR code for the deposit. However, I don't see any "long string address" for the deposit (only the QR code).

When I look on the exchange site it seems to want this "long string address" in order to make the withdrawal. It doesn't seem to have any option to enter this via QR code i.e. only the "long string address" method.

I should just mention that I'm using a PC. Not a mobile so I can't scan the QR code with the camera.

I'd be grateful for any help that anyone might be able to offer.

General Discussion / Re: Why no wikipedia page for Bitshares?
« on: August 18, 2017, 08:38:31 am »
I'd be willing to join some sort of group effort to collaborate on writing something for Wiki.

 I don't have the necessary knowledge/confidence to write the entire thing by myself. It would need to be fact checked etc to make sure that it was actually correct. Especially regarding the tech.

Is anybody interested?

I for one would like to keep my BCH on the BTS blockchain.

Does anyone know if this option is likely to be added any time soon?

General Discussion / Why no wikipedia page for Bitshares?

You would have thought that a company worth 390 million would have a page.

Surely this is something that needs to get done?

Is this the sort of thing that you can submit for proposal?

Hi there

I've Googled "dust trade" but there doesn't appear to be any helpful information.

Could you please elaborate?

I'm looking at the BTC/bitusd chart again from this afternoon (on a 6 hour timeframe with 5 min candlesticks).

There has seemingly been another 4 spikes today when the price tops $3200 and then plunges back down. As to volume I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

There's a spike in volume (at 12pm today) with the first price spike. Then smaller volume with each subsequent spike.

Could you please have a look at this chart and let me know what is going on.

Best regards

Hi Everybody

I'm somewhat new to Bitshares. I'm just starting to get a feel for the exchange. Deposited some BTC and bought my first few shares of BTS.

However I want to get clever and start to trade. So I placed a sell order in BTC/bitUSD market.

Here are the details

price = 3,200.00000
BTC = 0.01000000
Bitusd = 32.0000

I've just checked and there was a recent rapid price spike (the price got above 3200). Thus I thought the order would get matched into the market.  Alas this does not appear to be the case.

Does anyone have any explanation as to why not?

Best Regards

Bear
