General Discussion / Re: Why the BTS network status is so bad these days?
« on: December 20, 2018, 05:58:27 pm »
I will support the GUI worker when I saw  a professional team.
I mean we can get a really usable product from the worker's job.
the team need to be responsable for the whole development process include management / design / implement / test.

now all I can see is several unusable "stable" release, and seems nobody can tell me which one is the really stable/usable version.

Just curious have you worked on the GUI? What constitutes as a professional team? What if we stopped working on it, and shut everything down? Would you like to take over and do ALL the development work? Do you think you can do better??? Would you rather help than point fingers and make a fuss, which barely does anything other than delay progress? I bet I can't convince you, but really it's as professional as it can be for a decentralized, hard working, dedicated, and knowledgeable team.

I hope you come around for Bitshares sake. Right now the worker's out, which could be very bad for the future of this platform.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Proxy:baozi - proxy for anti-dilution
« on: December 18, 2018, 02:25:57 pm »
So you would rather have barely any development on the official, and other frontends, as well as stop some RPCs and nodes. Do you not think bitshares-org, bitshares-ui, spokesperson, rossul-ui, hackthedex, infrastructure are important? To those who proxy to baozi please think about these workers.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Fee Schedule Proposal] - New fee schedule
« on: December 17, 2018, 01:48:36 pm »
One thing is the transfer and asset issuing costs. I believe RuDEX as well as CryptoBridge, not sure about others, issue their UIAs when someone deposits. Increasing the asset issuance, by that much, will cause some extra costs to those gateways, and possibly shutdown of certain coins. I don't know if that will happen. I hope blckchnd can enlighten us, not sure if he's on here. I get for the normal user, but we should also think about the gateways.

Hello Bitshares community! My name is Kenneth, but I go by kennybll, you can call me either, or Kenny, or Ken, doesn't matter to me. I am a full stack react developer and am currently working for Whaleshares. Whaleshares is a fork of Steem, based on Graphene. Whaleshares is tightly integrated with Bitshares through the power of WhaleTokens, or UIAs. I have been a witness for Whaleshares since the launch, and part of the private testnet. I had ran a Scorum witness as well, but I'm not much of a sports guy so I decided to disable my witness, and lets others who are be top 20's.

I have helped a bit with the bitshares-ui repository. I have been grabbing some issues from Github and working on them. I currently have one pull request. My github is https://github.com/Kennybll. I don't know how to write c++ but can read it. I have been studying the Graphene blockchains for a year now, and am continually learning. I've always wanted to help with the development with Bitshares. This is one of many ways to do so, and I would love to do it. I still don't know everything about Bitshares, but I can be a great witness, developer, and learner.

What I'll Be Doing
  • Working on tasks from bitshares-ui
  • Running a witness
  • Working with Whaleshares which brings more Bitshares users
  • Eventually have a seed node
Witness Node - Dedicated
  • 16 GB of Ram
  • 160 GB SSD
  • 1G/S Connection
  • Location: New York
Eventually I will also have a backup witness server as I grow rank.

I know I have to prove myself, and I plan on it. I hope the community helps support my witness.

My witness node is currently syncing, about 50% there.

If you like what I'm doing or who I am, please vote  :) .

Hello awesome Bitshares community. Today I propose a worker to create a new and fresh website/front-end for the Bitshares blockchain.

Who Am I?
I am a full stack React Developer. I love JavaScript, Node.JS, React, Ant.design, and more libraries. I have done work for the Steem blockchain (un-official work, such as Busy.org). I have been programming since 6 years ago. I started off this HTML and CSS, and then into PHP, and MySQL. I dabbled into a bit of Angular, until I found the best language and library: React and JavaScript.

I've also been a user of cryptocurrencies for years now. I came onto Steem and Bitshares around 10 months ago. I have run a witness node for Steem as well.

Why A New Website? Why not help the current one?
While I plan on still helping the current bitshares-ui team, I also feel a fresh new start, and look on things, can in turn create another great and useful website. I am making a sleek, easy to use, user interface.

Have I started? How long will it take? What about updates?
I have started, I have a github repository here: https://github.com/Kennybll/bitshares-site. There will be all the code I write. I plan on taking less than 2 months to create this site. I don't believe I'll go over, I'm hoping it will be a lot less of a time frame. Once the initial site is up and going, there might be bugs (as in anything). I will make another worker to continue patches and improvements. If you feel like I did a good job here, you can then approve that one.

Who will you work with? Why all alone?
Well I'll work with any open source contributors, but I will work mainly alone (if no one else helps). Why this not a team? Well because for one the cost is down, two there is less communication needed to confirm and do different things, and three I will be able to use full imagination to create the best website for Bitshares.

Do you have a mockup, or preview?
As I said above, I have started to work on the site. https://i.imgur.com/GEWNGqu.png <- that is the login form (does nothing yet). Sadly I don't have any UI mockups to show other than that. I plan on using Github pages which'll host a preview once some dents have been made in progress.

Details?
  • 2500 BTS per day.
  • I will try to work around 6-8 hours a day.
  • I will take BTS not bitUSD, as I believe in Bitshares.
  • I will put a worklog on this proposal post each week. If I do not work a lot that week, I work longer the next.

I'm hoping to get funding, but even without that I plan to continue this venture.

I look forward to working with the Bitshares community.

Stakeholder Proposals / [Worker] Bitshares Advertising
« on: January 11, 2018, 01:01:42 am »
I believe Bitshares is awesome. I think if we start advertising we could grow the amount of users. If this worker proposal gets 50 BTS a day we could get around 69 clicks, 9188 impressions, on over 19045 ad units over cryptocurrency website. I will create banners then post them on here. The ads will be through a-ads.com.
