General Discussion / Re: review the drastic fall
« on: August 12, 2018, 04:49:48 pm »
We don't need to protect your asset.Start selling your BTS to lower your CR and there will be no problem anymore instead of looking for conspiracy theory of attackers waiting to harm your Collateral
Can you please act more like an adult and refrain from attaching people personally? Thank you!

Furthermore, I appreciate that @bitcrab describes what is going on in his perspective, even though people may disagree with his conclusions.
There are forces in play that seem to have sufficient liquidity to place with BTS valuation, and that is not the first time.

As a committee member, I (and bitcrab) need to make sure that the core value proposition of bitassets is kept and we follow different
procedures to achieve that. Bitcrab seems to be more experimental friendly than others and I like that he can freely discuss those in
the forums. Personal attacks are inacceptable - no matter what!

Other than that, conflicting interests are only natural and they should be address, but this thread was to discuss consequences of trades as
they happend in the past and learn from them.
xeroc is right

The general question here is how much risk is the BitShares DAC willing to take. Using a collateral ratio of only 2x would by high risk while 10x can be considered "low risk".
A reasonable answer is probably in between but highly depends on market conditions.
I do like the proposal linking the collateral ratio to the price level in general and would like to emphasis that any formula used today can (and should) be tuned an revised later on.
However, I am not a financial expert and lack the expertise to have a well-founded opinion about this and thus would ask to go rather high on collateral ratio and low on risk.
I also think that lower risk is better for us.

In my opinion we need way more nodes.Everytime the market is hot i get only high latency nodes with 4000-8000 ms where its a pain to make any transactions. Its like 10-30 failed transaction before one goes through.
Its really a pain and i lost personly a lot of money because of these kind of lags on hot days.
So i build my own personal node to have a good connection guarantee because these are the days where you make good profit.
But knowing these issues and me wanting DEX to get a major player this issue needs to be fixed quickly since i heard from many mad traders to leave DEX because of the bad performance.

Is there any clean and clear documentation were you able to follow for running your own node?
Try this https://steemit.com/bitshares/@markopaasila/how-to-create-your-own-bitshares-node-for-better-access-to-the-dex

I signed up for a lykke account today and even bought some of their shares.

I hope they can be a real fiat on off ramp for bitshares
Problem is that we need off ramp too and openEUR, USD does not workfor some reason.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

Please do keep in mind that this whole general pump is largely fueled by the Tether scam   :-\...

You were right more than you may have realized!  USDT from tether is a massive sell off for Bitcoin, Bitshares, many different currencies everywhere.

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitfinex-printed-one-third-usdt-receiving-subpoena/

All you have to do is look for any Market on coinmarketcap.com that has a USDT trading pair... everyone is liquidating USDT and trading it for other coins and then most probably doing withdrawals back to fiat.
Well if I understand it correctly: Those selling their crypto for tether will end up with "money" worth nothing as always in history.

It looks like one man show.
Does anybody know something more about who is behing this huge mega project?
It will need experienced coders with knowled of Graphene.
I would not like to buy into a scam ICO.

General Discussion / Re: please leave poloniex
« on: February 02, 2018, 09:33:49 pm »
each time BTS are in serious market situation, poloniex is maintaining BTS wallet and users cannot withdraw BTS, I cannot understand this without supposing poloniex is in collusion with some whales to manipulate the BTS price and make money.

this always put Bitshares into dangerous place.

if you love BTS, please leave poloniex, witnesses, please remove poloniex price from price feeding.

If you love your your money deposited in BTS (or other crypto) leave all external centralized exchanges and stick to BitShares.
In BitShare you can somehow lose your password (private key) if you are very negligent, but any centralized exchange can steel all your funds and you are done for ever (every month you can read that story about some "cracked" exchange.

Ezira will sharedrop 1.5% of its cryptoequity EZIRA onto bitshares holders,

 +5%
After reading the post it seems to me that EZIRA strives to replace BitShares by it ´s complex environment including decentralized cryptocurrency exchange.

What's the reason people are not voting for this?
I would like to know also. I like the idea of "official" bitshares bot.
