Muse/SoundDAC / What muse?

What news?.. no reply in the Muse forum; so, will post here too.. surprised there is no comment simply to confirm the snapshot occurred as expected.

I got to claim MUSE in the https://wallet.muse.help and in time for the snapshot, which I gather was expected end of 11th Aug.

I've also then got NOTEs against a BTC address but expecting that is fine, given the suggestion:
> those that participated in the pre-sale of NOTEs and have never claimed anything, you can wait and import your Bitcoin private keys directly into the upcoming Muse (the new Blockchain’s) interface.
from https://steemit.com/muse/cob/muse-project-status-update-action-soon-required

The email prompt suggested:
> The launch of the new Muse blockchain will follow shortly after the snapshot period. This will be the last time you hear about complicated crypto stuff from us!

but what's next?..

Did the snapshot occur and what does that snapshot do next.. is it some less than complicated crypto and required a new blockchain or other?

Is there a timeline for development.. and is this forum the best source for updates going forward?

Or he knows his strength lies not in long term management, but quick pace innovation.

Still rolling with that old chestnut eh.. I expect Stan would approve. I'd rather have seen him stick with fully developing BTS, than making like cowboy and doing a fast one. Lost of lump of money that other insiders didn't, from that same gameplaying previously.

...is there any rational explanation for the current Bitshares bull run?

And the question I still don't have an answer for is: Is it sustainable??

I haven't been watching BTS for a while.. but notice the trollbox is alive with chatter about the volume of transactions that BTS can handle.. I guess wherever there is uncertainty about BTC's ability to scale - and perhaps without all the politics, there is opportunity for another that can step up. If BTS is in good shape and other fundamentals like past agreements are seen to be still valid then skys the limit. I say that cause I can't get a clear answer from bitsapphire about the agreement to honor moonstone tokens but all those little signals provide a backdrop that then instill confidence. Would be good to see BTS jump back up where perhaps it should be. The stumble a while back where marketing and hype dominated I suspect left a sour impression on a lot of people, so need to reverse that with clear signals that BTS could replace BTC if needed.

General Discussion / Re: New updated version - Moonstone Wallet Beta

@bitsapphire that's a nice surprise - good to see progress. Is there still the same commitment to honour the original proposal for an exchange of MoonStone to BTS at some point? BTS value has fallen but would be good to know the commitment stands and perhaps a restating of it.

Moonstone wallet was a scam?

Damn.. I was hoping to be surprised about MoonStone.. all that nonsense has left a bad impression of BitShares. Tis a pity.

I should have seen the signs.. too must hype and marketing from Dan/Stan/cowboys than genuine intent to follow through to completion but rather did not want to believe it :/

Still I like the tech and the idea but it's a long way back.. the first step back would be Moonstone honouring their commitment to moonfund holders.. but that does seem unlikely now.

Having been away a long while, can I ask where is moonstone wallet up to?..
There was talk of of MoonStone tokens to BTS at +15% but where that at now? @bitsapphire

Just to note the obvious first impression
https://bitshares.openledger.info looks good

Development graphing suggests less development
https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/graphs/contributors

Forum still active.. so, good impression, though obviously affected by core churning to another project.
Would be great to see an ABC what you've missed in the last six month splashed across https://bitshares.org/ or just sticky on the forum, so it's more obvious.  8)

The Dex is just too hard to use. ...

BitShares perhaps is too hard to use.. and that then begs a question of if the devs are thinking big and pitching at professional business interests, with expert options that traders will recognise. I don't mind if that's the case, as that's where the big money will be. Long term BitShares needs to find a market.. and to do that it needs to provide a compelling reason to use BitShares rather than another option with similar functions. There are threads through the ideas behind BitShares that make a lot of sense and indeed appear unique but drawing those together into a coherent package that's easy to sell to a defined market, requires focus and commitment.

I'm encouraged by responses above but keen to seen what has been achieved acknowledged and re-enforced - where is moonstone.io wallet upto for example.. having flexibility in GUIs will be an important contribution towards appeal in different user groups. Much of the market atm is likely individuals; speculators; and less atm finance-centric businesses - those are an end game, question is how best to get to the point they can and do use the markets here.

BitShares is not a piece of software, it is an ecosystem.

define: pabulum

BitShares is not just a piece of software, it is an ecosystem.
BitShares needs its devs.. a clear statement, for example, of what devs are still strongly bound to the project, would be more interesting than daddy suggesting his son is God!

Success requires certain behaviours.. there are many contributing factors that create lasting success. So, I'm all for BitShares being challenged to evolve.. but there are ways and ways of progressing and ensuring the state of play is clear to all, is a key part of enabling others to provide what support is needed.

Bytemaster makes babies and leaves it to others to raise them.

Might that be mistaken for neglect and abandoning, where there are not also clear statements of confidence and encouragement, put alongside each instance of change.

Mumbling is all very well but I'd rather BitShares get into the habit of stating things clearly.. it's hard in passing by the forum, as most BitShares interests will be, to make sense of this latest twist.

General Discussion / Re: [Poll] REAL GOLD BLOCKCHAIN?
« on: April 09, 2016, 06:59:36 pm »
Solving the problem of bridging from a cryptocurrency to a real world asset, would be a HUGE achievement and that requiring at least a location and law that would give people confidence that law would be enforced and asset audited and real world transfers that would occur.. otherwise you just have a house of cards==The Fed demanding people trust that they have real gold bars while issuing worthless paper.

The second challenge, beyond simple volume of asset, is what I understand colour coins are useful for - individual satoshi of a currency being uniquely bound to a unique instance of a real world asset - like a house or a car. That would be then another order of magnitude HUGE.

First step wait for any cyptocurrency to be acknowledged widely; second step see pegged currencies the like that BitShares does better than any other I've seen; then perhaps those above. So, yes ..

Having multiple options for wallets can only help BitShares appear flexible and useful for different interests; so, hope they keep working on it.

@bitsapphire et al - Any update from Moonstone?.. I've been out the loop but happy to now have BitShares2.0 working and then hoping other areas still progressing well.

Technical Support / Unecessary hurdles: Linux 32bit?
« on: March 10, 2016, 07:48:18 pm »
Is there current 32bit version available for Linux? https://bitshares.org/download/ appears to offer only something with a filename as _amd64. Instructions to build 32bit perhaps would do but those aren't available directly, which makes it harder work than is needed. Having a repository available would help user adoption too.

Then, I wonder the wallet location could be more obvious and the worry of over installing an older version of 2.0 could be disappeared with a clearer how-to.
