Is this because AGS donations were deemed to be undervalued unless they convert them to BTS?  And how can we convert them?

Technical Support / BT-SX - to BTS
« on: December 13, 2017, 03:48:57 am »
I think I have found my old wallet with some AGS donations and some Bitshare -X shares.

So these shares have been converted to BTS?  And what is the ratio?   I assume not 1:1 because I thought BT-SX was going to have a much smaller total # of coins.  Thank you!

It has some AGS from donations in 2014.  I also have another wallet I believe with even more donations.

I read from the wallet explorer that it should have share in some other projects.  Anything successful?

Does this wallet have any USD value?   Thanks!

4) How can you increase the value of a token without also having the services paid for with that token become more expensive (for example storage)?
Yeah they seem to not provide any explanation on why their coin will have any value. They basically have no business model.

I don't see why one should give them BTC or run a node to have a worthless coin.

I see you there bringing up fundamentals in relation to crypto-equities..

big mistake, don't ever bring up fundamentals

jk :)

But nothing to prevent me from just waiting until everyone else does all that, and then listening for free.

I believe the target is the iTunes style market where people do spend money for music.

I would personally target the DJ market, though much smaller cap, just on the grounds that it would be more realistic to get them to switch.

Full disclosure: I am usually wrong about this kind of stuff.

Ahh, I see.

It's a good idea.

It is far enough away from sound money for me that my head would spin if I bought a ticket.  It's just pure digital speculation, and though we see tons of this behavior in alt-coin markets today, it remains to be seen if people are just going to speculate on digital assets forever.

That doesn't mean other people won't like it though.

I actually don't understand the bitshares music model?

How does either model protect against piracy?

Right now, in 2014, any music you want can be obtained online freely?  Is it possible to compete with that?

Where is the pot of money coming from to give out?  You can only sell all the coins once, to raise funds, then you do a lotto.  But how do you do the 2nd lotto?

So you don't really need an escrow, because if you default on your loan it will damage your reputation in the community.

What is to prevent someone from building up a lot of trust over the course of years, and then, just stealing lots of money?  I suppose the amounts could never be high enough to make scheme worthwhile?

We'll see where it goes and much of this could be idealistic pie in the sky sh*t, but if we don't try it we'll never know.  I believe if we try enough, eventually something legitimate will manifest and stick.  I am interested in helping this along and making good friends in the process who I can someday sit down with a couple ($.20) Pints and chat about how we contributed to the new industrial revolution.

The possibilities make me giddy.  Monetary gain, though nice, would be dwarfed in significance as compared to the knowledge that we all collectively stood up and helped push the human race back from the precipice yet one more time.  We live in extraordinary times, so I say lets all learn to be extraordinary together.

Wow, what a great attitude.  Hope to help in any way I can, even it its just "hanging out."  I think its great to have all 2.0 communities together.
