Technical Support / Importing Protoshares wallet to BitShares 2.0
« on: January 04, 2017, 07:35:37 pm »
I have a problem getting my protoshares into Bitshares 2.0.

Here's what I did:

- import protoshares wallet into bitshares client 0.9.3c -> It worked, I see the whole amount of protoshares/BTS in the 0.9.3c wallet
- export 0.9.3c wallet via console into keys.json
- start BitShares 2.0 client, create a wallet - not an account! - and import the 0.9.3c keys.json. -> 6 keys available, amount of BTS is correct, everything went ok.

The problem here is: I do not see my (imported) balance anywhere.

So I created an account  - but did not see my imported BTS anywhere.
Then I tried to import the 0.9.3c wallet again. Error: it has already been imported.

So I created a new wallet with a new account and then imported the 0.9.3c keys.json again. -> 6 keys available, amount of BTS is correct, everything went ok.

But still I can't see my imported amount of protoshares/BTS anywhere.

Can anybody tell me where to look for my imported BTS? I hope I'm just too blind too see them.

BitShares PTS / yam (yvg1900) miner performance comparison
« on: January 03, 2014, 02:29:17 pm »
As performance information is cluttered through various threads I would like to use this one to specifically talk about the performance of yvg1900's miners (e.g. "yam" from https://mega.co.nz/#F!h0tkXSxZ!f62uoUXogkxQmP2xO8Ib-g ) for ProtoShares.

I'd like to know your miner setup and how you optimize your miners to get the best possible performance.
This thread is not meant for support or install questions. It should just give an overview of mining speeds / optimal miner configurations.

My current setup:

CPU: Intel i7-4770 (Quad-Core Haswell) 3.40GHz
RAM: 32 GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Ubuntu 13.10 (64bit)
Software: yam-yvg1900-M7i-linux64-haswell

PTS Agg. CPM (512 MB): 325 (AV=12 after AV-optimization)
PTS Agg. CPM (1024 MB): 336 (AV=31 after AV-optimization)
PTS Agg. CPM (2048 MB): 318 (AV=13  after AV-optimization)

I'm running with "&donation-interval=100".

Keyhotee / Keyhotee & Spam
« on: December 20, 2013, 12:31:33 pm »
As I'm not exactly sure how Keyhotee is going to handle things I was wondering if spamming (spam mails) would be possible in that system?
Everybody can create as much IDs as he wants (right?). These IDs don't have a big reputation in the beginning - but can be used to send mail (right?). You can send messages to everybody by just knowing their Keyhotee-IDs - or even easier: by just using a dictionary.
Is there going to be a feature like a spam filter (maybe filtering by sender-ID "reputation level")?
How does Keyhotee handle spam?

General Discussion / Exchange all BTC for PTS - what would you do?
« on: December 19, 2013, 07:34:10 am »
I thought about exchanging all my BTC to PTS. Mainly because I thought PTS would return much more in the long run.

I still think that would make sense if 1 PTS = 1 Share in every new DAC.
But, unfortunately - as seen with MemoryCoin2 - it seems like it's possible for the new DAC to define the conversion rate, for example: 10 PTS = 1 MC.

So if every new DAC just defines 1 PTS = 0.00000001 "NewDAC" ... the PTS would probably be almost worthless.

I think some kind of "social contract" should define that 1 PTS must always be 1 (full) unit in a new DAC.

Am I getting something wrong?

General Discussion / Joe Weisenthal is changing his mind about bitcoins
« on: December 02, 2013, 07:28:27 am »
Joe Weisenthal is changing his mind about bitcoins, thinks he dug deeper now, then shows a screenshot of the coinmarketcap.com Top 8 showing ProtoShares on #7 ... and writes this: "Now each one of these coin systems are pretty similar, but they have slightly different characteristics." I wonder when he comes up with an "I changed my mind about ProtoShares being slightly different from other coins" article. ;)

General Discussion / Colored Coins / Mastercoin / ProtoShares / BitShares
« on: November 27, 2013, 03:37:07 pm »
Can somebody explain the differences between the "Coins" mentioned in the subject  in simple words?
There is so much documentation about all of them, but if I wanted to invest let's say $100000 in "digital currency" to make the most of it - and I'm not interested in the technology behind it or how to mine it -, if I just want to make the most profit of my $ over the next let's say 5 years, what would you advise where to invest the money - and why?

Nobody can predict the future and of course, this is the BitShares forum - but knowing what you're dealing with: why are you here and not over at Colored Coin or Mastercoin?
Is it because BitShare/ProtoShare is so fresh and you see a chance of getting in early - or are there more profound reasons you prefer Proto/BitShare to the others?
