General Discussion / Vesting period for delegate pay?
« on: April 05, 2015, 04:31:37 pm »
I think there's some amount of doubt in the community, especially regarding 100% delegate performance, or whether some of them are just selling their delegate income immediately not holding any BTS.

I'm thinking, since the merger required investors (PTS/AGS holders) to have a vesting period. Shouldn't delegate pay also have a vesting period? Let's say delegate still get paid the same amount, but the BTS you get paid today, will be unlocked in 6 months time. So at any time, the delegate have at least a stake in BTS valued in 6 month pay, so the delegate is more motivated to increase BTS's value.

This move should immensely boost community confidence in the 100% delegates.

General Discussion / Is there any downside to rewarding the voters?
« on: April 05, 2015, 04:21:36 pm »
In vast majority of PoS coin, when you stake your coin, you get something back, it might be tiny like 1% annually. But in Bitshares, when you stake(vote) for 101 delegates, there's no reward associated with it. So a lot of people might not bother to vote, especially those who are new to the community and don't know most of the delegates, they don't have any incentive to spend time to research delegates and vote.

So is there any downside to giving a financial reward for voters? Similar to the interest on BitUSD.

For example, for every 30 days you have voted, you get 0.0001 BTS per delegate per BTS you voted?, so for a person with 1M BTS voted 101 delegates, he would be rewarded 101 BTS every 30 days

When will dividend feature be activated for user assets? I plan to run some passthru assets, and would need an easy way to pay regular dividend to investors.

General Discussion / the spread on shapeshift is real
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:43:18 pm »
Shapeshifted quoted me 0.000029 on buying my BTS, and 0.000042 to sell BTS to me. Who would use shapeshift with such spread?

DevShares / New DVS delegate: delegate.kokojie
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:38:44 pm »
I have registered as a delegate "delegate.kokojie", my main purpose is to test running a delegate in windows client 24/7, in windows 8 environment with 4GB ram. 20% pay rate.

I'm currently an active delegate in bts network, with over 12k blocks produced. I will publish feeds and do everything that is required to help testing in the DVS network.
