Technical Support / Error settling BitBTC
« on: October 16, 2018, 07:17:07 am »
Greetings, I have an error settling 0.11377283 BitBTC.
at 2018-10-15 23:46:36 in the block / 31395459/44
missing translation: en.operation.asset_settle_instant

Very strange. The operation was resolved instantly, instead of 24 hours, and for a price much lower than that marked by the witness. What has happened?

General Discussion / atomic swaps when in bitshares?

atomic swaps when in bitshares?

When bitshares is going to do a project? If bitshares does not do it, and does not do it soon, it may fall into irrelevance.

General Discussion / weiss ratings !!

Bitcoin (rated C+) and Bitshares (rated C+)
 Ripple ratted C-

Bitcoin (rated C+) gets excellent scores for security and widespread adoption. But it is encountering major network bottlenecks, causing delays and high transactions costs. Despite intense ongoing efforts that are achieving some initial success, Bitcoin has no immediate mechanism for promptly upgrading its software code.
Ethereum (B), the second most widely adopted cryptocurrency, benefits from more readily upgradable technology and better speed, despite some bottlenecks.
Novacoin (D) and SaluS (D) are weak in terms of both technological innovation and adoption.
Steem (B-) enjoys a relatively good balance of moderate strength in nearly all the key factors considered along with a social network feature.

General Discussion / Intel Bug

How can this very serious failure of Intel affect the operation of the nodes and witnesses of bitshares?
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw/
Is there a protocol in place to solve it?

Attention OasisDEX and stablecoin DAI launched. Dai uses margin call, very similar to BitUSD.

Technical Support / Internet of Things and bitshares

A query about the Internet of Things. Can an internet-connected machine do a bitUSD transfer, pay fees in bitUSD, using the Bitshares API and without downloading the blockchain (as if it were an online DEX client)?

If the answer to this is yes ... what the heck is IOTA serving, if I can pay things at their real value with smart pegget assets, and why not advertise to bitshares for it?

General Discussion / IOTA in the DEX?
« on: September 01, 2017, 09:48:01 pm »
IOTA is a new currency without mining that uses a kind of graph, called Tangle, without blockchain. It is taking a considerable volume and is practically no more negotiated than in Bitfinex. Would it be a good idea to create OPEN.IOTA and bitIOTA to take advantage of that volume in the DEX?

Technical Support / Full node and blockchain size
« on: August 27, 2017, 09:31:57 pm »
Hello everyone. I would like to know the hardware requirements needed to build an efficient full BitShares node.

What size are all the blockchains of BitShares and what RAM is needed to load it efficiently?

General Discussion / BTS in Bisq what do you think?
« on: July 25, 2017, 10:00:15 pm »
Hi all,

The exchange P2P Bisq https://bitsquare.io/ integrates BTC LTC DOGE and DASH as base currency.

The DASH integration whit Bisq was done by DASH devs.

I think it would be a great idea to integrate the bitshares wallet with Bisq. It would be possible to exchange FIAT and BitUSD or FIAT and BTS in a full P2P environment, something that does not exist now. It would also provide greater liquidity to these assets.

what do you think?
