General Discussion / Dear Invictus, we need a social media DAC
« on: October 25, 2014, 09:25:40 am »
We dont just want one, we need it!

Right now there is absolutely no option to access a safe social media platform. All your data is raped and pillaged immediately and indefinitely. Take a look at these guys and what they are doing http://on.rt.com/f4t5td the platform does not seem to be encrypted they merely will not share your data with 3rd parties and vow to never have advertisements. Standard. But what protects the data?

Notice the demand for their service? Millions of people instantly sign up and millions more waiting to do so. We are obviously very busy coding away the new internet but there is so much opportunity!

An encrypted, secure social media platform is the ultimate viral DAC.

General Discussion / So whats going on with marketing?
« on: September 29, 2014, 03:11:59 pm »
I would like to know details about the Bitshares marketing plan. As an investor I have access to everything but future marketing plans. Right now as far as I know it is a one man job?

Twitter, reddit, crypto news outlets and traditional sources have very little to no content passing through. The majority seems to be community driven and many articles are destructive to the BTSX.

Bytemaster did ask for the campaign to halt until the code was stable and bugs ironed out. Fair enough. Now we are in safer waters and it is time to start the media. My impression is that our marketing is top secret and we have a game changing campaign ready to roll out on bytemasters word?

There are direct smear campaigns aimed at BTSX while misinformation is at an all time high. You will not achieve adoption and rope investors with this circling unchallenged.

With vegas around the corner and charting technicals moving towards critical indicators this is certainly an interesting moment for BTSX.

General Discussion / Back the BTSX with physical gold
« on: September 28, 2014, 05:24:20 am »
Looks like everything is coming together perfectly but 1 common thought is that our BTSX are not backed by anything (not entirely true).

What if it was possible to set up a centralised bank and create a process, maybe a DAC or asset that by each purchase of a unit results in the equal purchase in physical gold held in vault to back the asset. That would not simply work as when the BTSX increase in value the cheaper BTSX would not be matched by XAU. There are many possibilities to do this creating a scalable and sustainable economy. I think this is a good idea. Am I crazy ?

Having the security of physical backing would give big money the confidence in our system. You know that your 1 BTSX is safely redeemable for 1g XAU.

As the market cap of BTSX increases, how would gold reserves match the peg? Perhaps delegate burn be better directed to increasing XAU reserves.

When bitshares themselves are collateralised then the whole economy becomes collateralised. If I knew my crypto was secure like this I would move all funds save my HSBC hot wallet.

A decentralised bank with central stability.

General Discussion / New Asio laws passed in Australia
« on: September 26, 2014, 05:06:39 am »
The new Asio (Australian security intelligence organisation) laws have passed overnight. A sad day it is. People in America thought they had it bad. These laws strip Australians to nothing.

http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/consumer-security/terror-laws-clear-senate-enabling-entire-australian-web-to-be-monitored-and-whistleblowers-to-be-jailed-20140926-10m8ih.html

http://www.news.com.au/technology/online/spy-laws-passed-in-senate-asio-given-new-powers/story-fnjwmwrh-1227071116071

Encryption, unique software (keyhotee) and anti surveillance products will continue to experience rapid demand growth. As early adopters of BitsharesX, angelshares, protoshares and crypto in general, I think we are in an appropriate position to capitalise on this madness- Lose your human rights but increase your net worth.

3 options for aussies:

1) Leave your country (Just pack up and leave)
2) Lobby against these laws (Goodluck, they own you)
3) Encrypt everything. (Your now ASIO's most wanted)

General Discussion / BitAssets on coinmarketcap
« on: September 12, 2014, 06:05:58 am »
Dont think its just me but shouldn't we have our BitAssets up on coinmarketcap?

Each asset once created and actively traded should have its own special place on the cap. In future when BitAssets become wide spread we may even need to collectively combine into an index e.g the "Bit10"! (something more catchy of course). Not sure of the technicals but I dont think this is too early.

Should they have their own domains or link to an asset register? Could be a bit of marketing to play with here but what a great way to display bitshares assets.

General Discussion / Targeting local bitcoin users
« on: September 12, 2014, 05:36:51 am »
Local bitcoins is a massive central hub prime to target new adoption. Most of our newbies enter through this portal and usually attaching to their first transactor as a crypto mentor before getting on their feet.

I meet many interesting people and always help them out. Most are coming to invest and transact globally. A general conversation involves bitcoin basics, altcoin markets, scams/P&D, mining, DPOS/POS, 2.0 crypto and exchanges.

Everyone seems to like the thrill of the turbulent altcoin market but everyone is fascinated by the 2.0 sector. After people buy their first bitoin, they are shortly entering the BTSX market.

Once you catch crypto fever these is no cure.

How can we secure a position/ relationship to engage local bitcoins and its users from a broader perspective? Effectively each individual acts as a node in the community. Do you agree this market holds great potential?

General Discussion / Here's what you need to do..
« on: August 29, 2014, 05:25:55 am »
Chill out.

The peg is trading at a discount because that is what we think its worth. A new economy has birthed and we expect it to track perfectly? To me, that is the nature of our BitUSD to trade at a discount on open. Factoring risk etc it seems perfect.

Until the dollar (BitUSD) gains confidence, I don't expect it to reach parity. Its been a few days and we are unnecessary panicking. Let the economy discover itself.

The price is correcting naturally. After the tremendous gains investors are taking profits and celebrating. If you put down $50k and made 1/4 million under 2 weeks you sell. We see this in the alt market everyday. Its normal.

These runs don't continue forever, there is and always will be a correction. You cant stress over natural market forces, its a terrible way to live. The sell isn't due to or related to BitUSD peg, quite frankly no one gives a shit right now.

BM and all the devs are doing some of the worlds greatest work. I don't understand most of it, all I know is it can change the world and I need these BTSX. Its early days in the timeframe and were all lucky to be here!

Take a look at the chart below and identify key support, resistance and trend lines. Right now we are at one of significance. A strong green candle off that Fibonacci line is what your looking for. We are in a correction that has met a long term upwards trend, sitting nicely on solid resistance.  Any break out of that rectangular box will be of great interest be it up or down.

Looking out for that fat green candle..

General Discussion / Help with trading BitUSD/BTSX
« on: August 26, 2014, 01:09:58 pm »
Ok so I am looking at the market and thinking the current moment will be a nice entry to go long on BTSX.

I have my BTSX loaded in the bitsharesX client. What is the best way to profit from a rise in the BTSX price?

General Discussion / Market ordering/categories
« on: August 24, 2014, 06:18:00 am »
Great work on the GUI, loving it!

Looking through the markets and finding my way about. I think we need some order to become more user friendly.

Categorize similar to traditional markets would be a great step.

I like the broad pairings but I think the dilution is too great. Also we miss some of the greatest market pairings! Food commodities... Wheat, soy, beef, pork coffee etc.

Many markets need to be hidden in folders and only the larger liquid markets focused in plain sight. Modelling off current forex markets and adapting features to our crypto sphere would harbour an ideal environment.

Cant wait for any future development, exciting times!

General Discussion / Blockchain dividend payments
« on: July 19, 2014, 10:12:24 am »
There is a crypto stock, coin or token that represents a stake in a DAC or a company that is a profitable.

Rather than rely on a centralised service such as (crypto stocks) to distribute profits, I want a system where all addresses across the chain can be sent to in one motion. It could operate under a minimum stake system to prevent transaction fee bloat.

Is this something that can be incorporated into bitshares or a separate DAC?

The scenario to ponder,

A traditional business wants to launch on a modern platform.

They want to offer an ICO (initial crypto offering)
Provide full business accounting/ transparency
Submit to external community audits
Pay dividends
Offer coin holders voting rights

Is it possible to do this in partnership with invictus?

There may be some regulatory hoops to jump through but the opportunities are endless.

How do we make this a reality?

General Discussion / Invictus & Cryptonote
« on: May 22, 2014, 04:54:33 pm »
Hello friends,

There is a very interesting new algorithm out that has changed the landscape, enabling true anonymous transactions and data privacy.

I would like the community to investigate the possibility of application within Invictus. There are many ways we can benefit from this technology.

Invictus and Cryptonote share fundamental philosophy, a collaboration could prove worthy.

BitShares PTS / Bithares are your legal property
« on: March 01, 2014, 05:16:33 pm »
Bitshares derived from Protoshares caught on exchanges during snapshot are legal property of account holders. If you had Protoshares resting with an exchange, you are legally entitled to your dividends- regardless of their participation.

For substantial amounts this may be worth pursuing.
