Technical Support / Help! Password not working on web wallet
« on: June 11, 2017, 01:25:53 pm »
So I haven't logged into my account for close to a year. Now I have used only a few variations of the same password for the last 5 years. So I try pretty much everything I can think of but everything says invalid password. I've tried this on the bitshares.org web wallet and also on open ledgers web wallet. But here is the weird thing, I ended up creating a brand new account through open ledger. So this time I know for a FACT what the password is. But when I go to log in using the Account method, it still says invalid password! What am I doing wrong?

Also alternative to trying to get the password right, I actually do have my public and private brainkey for my account. I tried importing that key into a new account and it said there were no funds that hadnt already been claimed   :(

I have 78000 BTS and I just wanted to get some of it out! Please help!

Stakeholder Proposals / When do we start the price feeds?
« on: August 25, 2014, 02:44:27 am »
I know we are waiting for most people to be upgraded but what is the plan? Wait for people to post they are ready? Or will I3 or DACSunlimited post something for us to all synchronize?

General Discussion / Price feed help
« on: August 20, 2014, 03:41:16 am »
So I looked around for a bit but there is precious little time left. How do I set a price feed as a delegate automatically? Preferably with a script? I have not had to use RPC calls to this point so it would be nice to have a place where I can find that info. A tutorial would be nice. Anyone?

General Discussion / RPC help
« on: August 15, 2014, 06:43:17 pm »
While we are waiting to hear the plans for publishing feeds... Is there anywhere I can look to brush up on how to use the RPC calls with BTSX? I searched in the forum for a bit but didn't really find anything. More specifically running a script to make RPC calls would be nice. alt has a good python script here. But a tutorial on how to make my own script would be really nice. I've written python scripts before but I don't have any experience with RPC. The idea is that the delegates will get there sources different ways from different places right?

Stakeholder Proposals / Reliable delegate, votes appreciated!
« on: August 09, 2014, 03:16:16 pm »
Recently my votes have gone down a little so I wanted to put myself out there again. I changed my forum name to match my delegate to be more consistent.

According to http://blockchain.bitsuperlab.com/delegate.html currently I am the 12th most reliable delegate at 99.6%. Of those 12 I am number 2 in total blocks produced. I haven't missed a block in over a week, back when I was on version 0.2.3. So far I have not missed a block since upgrading to 0.3.1. I do have a high pay rate but I will lower that rate if the market dictates. At the moment the pay is not that significant anyway.

So please vote for your local noble delegate bdnoble! I will very much appreciate it!

Stakeholder Proposals / 3.1 is looking good
« on: August 04, 2014, 03:53:20 am »
So I've been on version 3.1 and haven't missed a single block this whole weekend, after all my 2.x versions seemed to randomly miss a block every day or so.

Good job guys!

General Discussion / Total number of shares
« on: July 24, 2014, 02:33:07 pm »
So every delegate that doesn't have 100% pay rate destroys some BTSX. Is there anything that ever creates it back? I realize that with 2B shares and at the current rate of destruction it will be a long time before it matters at all, but I was just wondering.

General Discussion / Voting does NOT suck!
« on: July 22, 2014, 07:31:54 pm »
So I've heard a lot of people complaining lately that they think the current voting structure is not fair. We don't want the "elites" getting to choose who all the delegates are because they happen to have fat stacks of cash. Or maybe we want to see the little guys get a chance to jump in the mix and prove themselves from time to time. Well that is why we have voting in the first place! If 75% of the masses agree that there is a good candidate for being a delegate then no "whale" can do anything about it except try to promote against them a lobby for votes (or in this case votes against) just like everyone else. We could even form parties/groups that believe in a particular set of delegates and the masses that don't want to think about it too much could just vote the same way as their affiliation.

Ultimately if what you want is just to give more people a chance to try to be a delegate then what if we stop trying to say that voting is broken and start giving people a chance to prove themselves? There could be a "delegate proving grounds" test net that is a clone of the current release so that other people could have a chance to show that they are good at producing blocks. Having tons of shares wouldn't matter as much because the shares have no value and you could just ask for some.  Oh wait... That sounds a lot like the test nets that we already have!

OR

We can just live with the fact that voting is voting and just give people a good place to promote themselves. I REALLY THINK THIS WOULD SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEMS. People who deserve to be delegates should be able to explain exactly why they deserve to be a delegate. Not just "plz plz plz vote for me! ;P " The problem is that we need to have 1 place where everyone knows and can easily find, where potential delegates can promote themselves. It really should be a part of the main website for BitShares.org .  And what would be REALLY awesome would be if there could be something as simple as a Facebook thumbs up that the masses could click on if they like what they see. And it would automatically sync up to the thumbs up link in the delegate page of the GUI wallet. Heck it could even set up a transaction of all your BTSX to yourself and ask you to verify that. Even better would be some kind of HTML code link that could be added to websites or forums that works a lot like the Facebook thumbs up.

All people want is a chance. And everyone wants to see the best delegates get the job. So we just need to let people (active delegates or not) get a legitimate chance to prove themselves and I think all these "voting sux!" problems will go away.

Any thoughts?

Stakeholder Proposals / Please vote for bdnoble: 100% Reliability
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:28:59 pm »
I promise to be honest and honorable and do justice to my name. I choose not to be anonymous to prove my trust. My name is listed on the development team webpage bitshares.org/community/team. You can also look me up on my facebook profile facebook.com/bdnoble. I have been helping test the BitShares source code since before the first Dry Run. I have already had the opportunity to produce some blocks in the blockchain and I am currently one of the few delegates with a 100% reliability rating. I have a dedicated server with 2Gb of RAM and my internet connection speed is 100Mbit. I believe I will be a reliable delegate and would love to have your vote!

Thank you all for your consideration!

General Discussion / Questions about delegates
« on: May 29, 2014, 01:16:42 pm »
So how are the first 100 delegates chosen? I know there was talk of a waiting line for alternate delegates to immediately take the place of a fired delegate. What would be the process to get in that line? Is there a minimum amount of stake that one needs to be considered for a delegate position? If an average person like myself has an average computer but a good internet connection (100Mb with pretty much guaranteed 100% up time) would I have a chance at being a delegate? :)

General Discussion / Ides of March
« on: March 12, 2014, 01:35:00 pm »
The Ides of march are nearly upon us. Is there any status update to say that we are on track for the first XT release?

Or should we beware the Ides of March?

:o
