Used to be pretty heavily involved with Bitshares since I mined the first Protoshares block. I since started my own project called http://storj.io/, which focuses on decentralized storage. Bytemaster and I had a discussion or two about how awesome this would be a long time ago. If I remember correctly Bytemaster was working on this concept before Bitshares, and you can see some of his code here: https://github.com/bytemaster/tornet.

Just wanted to start discussion of ways that Storj and Bitshares can work together.

I'm most curious about using Transactions as Proof-of-Stake system for one of our blockchains.
Also I think we could figure out a pretty solid DAC using Storj and Bitshares tech.

Has been pointed out yet? I think the best feature of Bitshares DNS is propagation. With the current DNS system you can wait 24-48 hours to get your correct settings to go through. With a blockchain system this is whatever the block time is. Top level providers can simply replace their current systems with Bitshares DNS as a back end because it solves all the propagation and issues that they spend 90% of their time trying to fix.

Its an easy sell to the backbone providers.

Website is now http://protoshares.com. I've hired a writer who is writing some excellent copy. Things of note:



Community Does Not Like the New Logo:
We need to have a discussion with Brian about branding in general when he gets back. This is high priority.

Community Wants Better Access to Information:
  • Blog will provide weekly updates. Will launch with the Invictus website.
  • Twitter will provide daily/real-time updates. Will launch in a few days.

Feature Freeze After Resources Page is Created:
Need to focus on the Invictus website and Keyhotee. Glaring issues should be reported here. https://github.com/super3/protoshares.net/issues?state=open
That is the only place where I can keep track, and address issues. If you email or PM me it will simply get lost.

Say Something. Do Something.
This is my personal philosophy. If you see me doing something wrong, call me out on it. So as far as a website issue, posting on the forums(good), raising a Github issue(better), pay someone to fix it or fixing the issue yourself and putting in a pull request(best possible!).

Translations Needed
We are global. Need to translate the website into multiple languages. If you are multilingual we would love you help. Chinese and Russian are the priorities.

You guys want better accountability and I agree with you. I want you to tell us how it should be done.
Some sort of voting software? Daily updates via Twitter? Video cameras on everyone?

The Invictus team is spread among multiple continents, so development is happening in real time 24 hours a day. This is why I think we have had some problems.   
tldr; Ideas to make community input real time to keep pace with all the cool things we are working on.

Also I'll try to be on #protoshares on freenode for my waking hours(super3). If you have immediate concerns just ping me there. I have access to the whole team so use me a resource till Brian takes over.

Back to work on the new website for me.

Hey guys! My name is Shawn Wilkinson, you all probably know me as Super3. I'll be working on all of the web stuff for Invictus from now on. I have experience as a Bitcoin Developer, the Peercoin Web Lead, and many many other projects. Working in the next day or two to bring me on as Full Time staff, so I'll be around way more often.

Protoshares.net is currently live, but is still a work in progress. You can use this topic to discuss, but the only changes that will be made will be pull requests or raised issues on https://github.com/super3/protoshares.net/issues. I can't possibly follow every topic on the forum, so this will allow me to respond to each and close it out when it is done.

Invictus-Innovations will begin to work on this in the next few days in-line with the kayotee launch.

Bounties that are outstanding for the website and copy will be paid Saturday or so. I'm still sitting in the hotel room for the conference so let me just get home so I can send those out.

Timeline The growth we have experienced in the past month usually takes a year. Lets discuss in this topic that the timeline for web development in our community, and how we can best allocate our time, personnel, and resources to get this done quickly and better than any others.

BitShares PTS / Protoshares Cloud Mining

Since its currently profitable to cloud mine with Protoshares I'm talking with a cloud provider to make this easier. They have authorized me to give everyone a $200 credit to their account. I'll try to work on another guide this weekend. I'm seeing if we can also get the basic mining software preinstalled. Payment with Bitcoin is on the table, but that is going to take some luck and talking to.

I'm just curious to how many people would be willing to sign up? Also how much would you be willing to spend on cloud mining if they offered US dollars vs Bitcoins?

Done over 10,000 PTS in mining and trades over the last few days. If you can find me a miner selling for a good price, or a buyer looking for a decent amount of Protoshares shoot me a PM first before posting(Minimum volume 500 PTS for now). After I cover my costs I'll pay you a commission based on sale price and volume.
