Bump the crap out of this and lets see the market cap rise an extra couple million.  Seriously.

How is voting from a cold wallet being addressed?  Will we see this ?   If it isn't going to be done, why?   etc.

General Discussion / Delegate Wiki HOW-TO

http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/Bitshares-x-delegate-how-to

This is somewhat done.  Since it is all terminal based there are no screenshots.

Thanks for 8bit, pharesim, and the original author.  (GaltReport? .. sorry I forget)

There are 2 branches in the howto.  One where you have an existing wallet and one where you create the account on the server and fund it.

I have not went through the steps of importing a wallet from elsewhere, only the creation and funding of new wallets.

I'm sure there are still plenty of errors, however pointing them out is always a good thing.

If anyone uses this and finds a source of confusion or ambiguity contact me in PM or via this thread.

Great place to get a few free BTSX so you can withdraw from bter.  Talk about your experiences.  Make friends not enemies.  Love all things BitShares and they will love you back!

First reply is that a "giveaway" thread not allowed. Poster does not appear to be a moderator, but may report the thread as "not allowed".
I am confused.  I've never bothered to moderate threads, but it is an option when you create the thread.  My assumption would be I can delete posts in the future.

If you don't do this, all it takes is one bored troll to just hammer the thread being obnoxious.  I've seen it before on bitcointalk.  It just ruins the thread for everyone.  I will go ahead and remove mention of the moderation from the OP.

Just so everyone knows, this is constantly being updated with little small issues as I find them in the forums.

General questions about anything related to Bitshares X that a suitable answer was posted for.  Mostly from the forums.

Here is a wallet to receive a BTSX to register an account and get started.

For those who are interested in running a delegate.

An initial attempt at listing the wallet commands you are actually likely to use.  Meant for command line interface (CLI) users.

This is the wiki maintained by the developers.  They're very busy getting stuff done, so it can be a bit out of date in places.  It is the best place to start if you want to do development related to Bitshares.

Please do no ask questions in this thread.  Create a new thread and reference it here.  Use this thread for any suggestions in regards to content.

As I was browsing bitcointalk I came across the above link.  I wonder if perhaps NXT is trying to change their salespitch ?   It is even pre-excusing their claims.

Has anyone seen the original dev talk about the corporation metaphor previously ?  It was news to me !  8)  ;)

I think some of us are missing the point here: all of the features of both NXT and Ripple are open-source concepts, anyone can implement them and in many cases it's kind of difficult to figure out who originally came up with a particular concept. So to say that x is copying y is a fairly pointless game, like saying that Ford are copying Nissan by putting wheels on their cars......

NXT is revolutionary not because of any specific feature set, but because NXT has been designed from the ground up to be a platform for other applications, not just a currency.
This means that if you can come up with a concept, you can probably figure out a way to implement it on NXT.

Just take a quick look at the list of projects that NXT is already supporting:
https://nxtforum.org/nxt-projects/

And we haven't even got on to the features list/road-map yet....

General Discussion / Re: What is the Counter For?

You first seemed to imply it was a concerted effort to keep it quiet.  Now you've moved on towards the marketing guy.  ;)  I smell a sock puppet.  Google 'friendsofbitshares' and there are  pages of hits all from the past 2 weeks.  Yes a lot more could have been done, but I'm not sure at what effectiveness.

Reddit allows tyranny by the majority so it is hard to get the right demographic without a lot of supporters timing their upvotes.
Some forums don't have working signups, some crypto forums have no place to discuss off topic.  Bitcointalk which actively encourages free speech is where we have posted on a lot.  Outside of nxtforum and darkcoin most of the posts were ignored.  At other places the posts could be bumped, but I personally see it as being rude if no one responds to the first one.

The countdown is to the end of AGS donations, not to a snapshot.

So for which DAC is the "snapshot"? For every future DAC that honors AGS.

Some in the pipeline include the DNS DAC, the lotto DAC, the voting DAC.

Yup. So AGS donars are banking on people not understanding this so that they get the best bang for their buck on ags and, their pts holdings increase when people find out it is too late for ags. (directly or indirectly)

EDIT: Makes better sense why people wouldn't want to blast out hard about the end of ags.

We've been blastin' out hard for the final 2 weeks.  Everyone who has been longer had as much time as they needed to donate at the best rates.

Hmmmm. I would expect to see more active posts about something this important. I would expect to be able to google "Bitshares End of AGS" and return hits from all crypto websites. Of course, I fail at google so it is entirely possible that it is all there and I am just missing it.

This is me with a custom mixtape about Bitshares just the other day.

I was told by someone whose opinion I value highly that reddit has it so that if a post gets several upvotes in the first 10 minutes or less, then those votes are weighted much higher than upvotes that trickle in later.  So if we want to start seeing stuff posted on reddit, it would be to our benefit to somehow time the upvotes to be around a certain time.

Apparently some guys got banned over this after a warning, but they were really trying to game the system.  Some starcraft thing.

Upvote this.  I am not sure if it will stick around.

Seems like we're seeing an uptick in AGS donations.  I'm glad to see more people involved with AGS.  Lets keep it up.

Perhaps I need to resize this.  This is a screenshot of the grid originally created by Clout on the Wiki.
