Not good. I bet, they are looking to regulate crypto currencies to the ground.

They also make more effort for  market cap such as if you bring newer will get 500nxty. Now more and more community has realized user is god. So how about bts , how do bts fight this time. Edn of this month or this year. Market cap wiil show us the turth wich is bter .

That's a Nxtty project - secure mobile app for communications. It has nothing to do with Jinn project. Two different projects and different teams.

Well, guys, BTSX does its own good share of pumping with the IPO funds per Dan's words, doesn't it? Now it's NXT's turn, why can't NXT do the same? ;D

How long does it take to sync the blockchain? How large should .BitSharesX directory be? Can I transfer BTSX before blockchain is fully synced?

General Discussion / Import PTS to BTSX deadline?
« on: August 22, 2014, 10:17:54 am »
Is there a deadline after which importing the PTS wallet to get BTSX will become impossible? Can I do it with my wallet in a year or two and still receive BTSX?

Technical Support / unable to import wallet.dat

I am trying to import my wallet.dat into BitsharesX and getting this error:

"Failed to restore wallet backup. Your original wallet has been restored. Error: Bad Cast (7) Invalid cast from null_type to Array"

any clues? How do I proceed from here?

DSL should create a ppa repository, host a built linux binary and make this download link available to users along with others.

When do you think it will happen?

Are those planned? It's a pain to build GUI from source. The command line binary built ok, but you should understand that users like GUI.

NHZ, a NXT clone made by one of the long-time bitshares forum members, is actually doing precisely this (as well as providing gateways for other DACs).  Just so you know ;)

That's cool, but I don't do NXT clones :)
It would be the same as going thru Bitcoin for me, one extra step.
I don't think there are so many NHZ users who would buy BitShares on NHZ, but there are enough NXT users who love to exchange some of their NXTs for BitShares, the market is there, someone just needs to tap into it.

Strike where there is weakness and partner where there is strength. You can ask them to adopt a new coin or you can tell them you have a gift for everyone in the Nxt community- it's about how you say things. That said, what I've found from the Nxt community is that it is serving as a sink for most of the experienced java developers in the Cryptocurrency space. I honestly don't think they will recover from the botched initial distribution, but it's not stopping the devs from having fun building a more mature codebase. A pity they can't be redirected to more useful projects.

May I suggest my humble opinion and say that some NXTers would appreciate if there was a direct way to but BitShares on NXT Asset exchange. Likewise, if NXTs could be purchased on BitShares decentralized exchange, that would also be brilliant.

Communities would intermingle and then free competition would decide the fate of both. Without those direct gateways to exchange NXT and BitShares, users of both systems have to go through Bitcoin, which doesn't help neither NXT nor BitShares, and makes Bitcoin more useful.

NXT and BitShares must establish their own exchange rate. This will happen sooner or later anyway, but I guess it would be nice if someone reputable made that happen. I would love to buy some BitShares directly for NXT without having to exchange to Bitcoins first, it's an additional inconvenient step.

What you need to do is either waiting for the official release of BTSX or donate some of your PTS to the ags address to get some ags. However, you can not get BTSX from those new ags. The snapshot was done on Feb 28th, 2014.  If you had those PTS in your wallet on Feb 28th, you should have BTSX too. Don't worry.

If I donate PTS to the AGS address will I get AGS and still be eligible for BTSX? or is it one or the other, can't have both? :)

General Discussion / newbie questions

I have a few protoshares in my wallet, which I understand are now called BitShares PTS.
I had them before February 28, so they went into the snapshot.
Should I do anything with them now or just wait till I can use them?
I see that on the Angelshares donations page people donate both BTC and PTS.
Why is that so? Should I donate my PTS/send them to some donation address on that page to convert them to Bitshares X?

Is there a linux wallet or sources for this? I'd like to test run BitShares X:
