I'd support that

me too!

Toby has been contributing here on the forum and he's into BitShares. I'd love to see his songs get used for PeerTracks promotions.

that would be a good fit in my opinion...

is the sign up page working?

Hey, I tried to fill it out this morning (L.A. time) and clicking the "sign up" button didn't do anything...

maybe we can use this "welcome to the blockchain" song to help launch the Peertracks project in some way?

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words!  I tried to sign up and the sign up button is not functional.

I'm sorry about the status of the Bitshares song, I will likely have to refund the funds when it's reasonable to close my short.  Life just kicked my ass at the wrong time...I wish I could have come through.

Peace
Toby

General Discussion / What happens to expired shorts?
« on: October 14, 2015, 06:02:26 am »
I have some shorts that have been expired for about 2 months now....will they ever auto-close or do they have to be closed manually?

5
Will everything be moved over to the new chain or is there any risk that an open short will cause problems?

If which BitUSD hits the feed price?

If I shorted BitUSD when BTS was lower..and now it's twice as high...what would prevent it from covering?

I've had some expired shorts sitting in the system for about two months....will they eventually auto-cover? Will I have to buy BitUSD to pay off the debt? If I pay off the debt will the system send back my BTS being held as collateral? I'm not sure how this works?

General Discussion / Re: Sold all of my Bitshares

Bitshares has done many things right, perhaps even most NECESSARY things right. However for its potential to be realized it has not done the SUFFICIENT thing yet ... which is achieve high liquidity of trading and ease of inbound and outbound flows ...

The great lesson to be learned form Ripple Labs is as follows: ONLY after they pivoted to target BANK settlement and NOT consumers Ripple adoption has taken off:

TL;DR:  Liquidity liquidity liquidity ... onramps, onramps, onramps ... offramps, offramps, offramps

:-)

Cheers

It's a really wide spread AND there's no liquidity.
You can see the best offer to buy BTC is at 184 and the best to sell is at 210.

General Discussion / Re: [Provocative] BitUSD Isn't Worth The Trouble

I feel like most of these arguments aren't arguments based on what BitUSD is in theory...but instead are about what it is in its state of infancy...which I don't think are serious arguments as they can mostly be applied to anything else that requires network effect...including Bitcoin and Truthcoin

I would still love to do a song for the community

Sucks that ripple is just as dependent on bitcoin as every other altcoin, eh? ;)

In what way is Ripple dependent on Bitcoin? That's virtually an impossible argument to make.

I assumed that bitcoin going down would make ripple go up, or wouldn't affect it. Ripple is so different from other cryptocurrencies that it surprises me that it still behaves like an altcoin when bitcoin goes down.

If you notice that Ripple is far less down than Bitcoin is...One of the only reasons that it went down is that Bitstamp USD withdrawals were not working and therefore the largest non-BTC market was not working.  This drove those seeking fiat to sell for BTC and withdraw the BTC.  It has since began to separate from the BTC fall.

It is my understanding that the OP is one of the biggest holders of BTS and is actually trying to encourage our community to communicate our message in such a clear and concise way as Ripple just has.  It's most likely motivated by trying to protect one's investment and to see our concept succeed.

Oh? On what are you basing that conjecture? His last 39 posts have been 37 to boost Ripple and 2 to put down Stellar for ripping off Ripple. I doubt that he remains a large investor in BitShares or that his motivation is anything  other than to try and move investment from here to Ripple.

Basing it on the fact that I know him personally and he is the one that first got me into Bitshares to begin with and he often expresses his agreement with the Bitshares vision
