Even 3% delegates have to work to keep there delegate up, and updated.

:D now I get your question.
Well, I think we should stick to DPOS since the stakeholders have the power in their hand. If they vote against you, you are gonna be kicked out no matter how much work you are doing.

Hey,

Today, I have deleted my old Bitshares client and compiled the new version 0.4.27.2 with my ubuntu 14.04 machine. Unfortunately, now the client crashes each time I am trying to start it. The console gives me the following error messasge

Quote

General Discussion / Re: The Benefits of a Contract Free Society

Imagine if every body had a bond and arbitration agent on file with the block chain. Imagine everyone refused to do business with someone who had an unpaid judgement against them because their own bond was at risk if they did.

BitShares is the foundation of a non-violent consensus on property rights that replaces the use of force to physically reallocate property.

I'm sorry, I am not a libertarian. These non-violent consensuses are an utopia. Even blockchain technology won't change this.

In my point of view there are always situations in which one has to be violent or at least punish people by some consequences.
For example, imagine there are some farmers, who can live autarkic, i.e. they produce everything they need by themselves and do not need to deal with anyone else. Imagine further, their favourite activity is to rape your kids. What would u do? Wait until they want to deal with someone else or would u go over there and cut off their balls?

Technical Support / Re: Official Ubuntu builds
« on: November 16, 2014, 10:03:06 pm »
Hey guys,

I have the same problems with my ubuntu 14.10 build on amd64.
I have also the following findings:
a) Still receiving (116 error instances after 5 minutes):
'JSON Parse error: Property name must be a string literal [show details]'
b) Clicking 'show details' doesn't do anything.
c) 'Not connected'
and
d) That some funds have been send to 'Unknown'.

These funds, which have been send to 'Unknown' were all market orders. I was buying bitusd. Maybe there is link between the JSON Parse error and the market orders. I have never looked deeply under the hood of bitshares, thus I can not evaluate whether there could be a possible link. But I want  to mention it here at least.

Hammurabi, do you have also some bitusd in your account?

Hey,

I tried this well done how-to-do.
At first, I had a problem:
got following error while running
sudo npm install -g lineman  ----- this one has no problem.
sudo npm install --- got following error

Code: [Select]

> lineman-less@0.0.1 postinstall /home/ubuntu/bitsharesx/programs/web_wallet/node_modules/lineman-less
> node script/postinstall.js

sh: 1: node: not found
npm WARN This failure might be due to the use of legacy binary "node"
npm WARN For further explanations, please read
/usr/share/doc/nodejs/README.Debian

npm ERR! weird error 127
npm ERR! not ok code 0
But I found the solution over here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6109.msg81741#msg81741

I am posting this, just in case other people have the same issue.

General Discussion / Re: how to register/fund account?

Go to advanced tab on your account and post your public key (BTSX.......) here and you can get some seed funds to register your account.
