I bought Bitshares in September & December 2014 & I have just been into my Bitshares wallet for the first time since then & my balance on my account says 0.00 when it should be 14,857.67461, help!

Hi David, thanks for the info ... I have not opened it since September when I bought my shares ... this may be a dumb question but how do I do a backup of the wallet? as you can see I am a real newbie!

When I start up BitsharesX software it shows "not connected" in the bottom right hand corner, I have tried rebooting it & the same result, how do I get connected?

I am new here & yesterday I bought BitSharesX shares & setup the software on my computer. Today I noticed some welcome messages & what seems to be some BTSX shares sent to me, I am so surprised, thank-you so much, such a nice welcome! Is this a tradition? or are these people being generous? I know if you pay it forward it comes back to you tenfold!
