Technical Support / Re: Using cli_wallet with remote server
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:39:03 am »
HI Mostar, I noticed the same error on one of my servers.... it happens to be a conflict with UFW / Iptables to my best guess...

I have not yet debugged it, since I managed to run the cli_wallet with local ws connection on the other server. On the not working server the aformentioned suggestions using a trusted wsS remote websocket does work as well.

Howdy Roland - annnd welcome on board here :) !

I think these links are what are being referred to: https://bitshares.org/contact/

Those materials haven't been updated in a long time though.

Yea but this is a good sign, isn't it?
Can provide a more updated versions soon ..

Since the last update I've basically:

As mentioned previously, there is not a whole lot of core/fc development activity at the moment, so I think roughly monthly updates strike a good balance. Again, part of the intent of this worker is to be a clearly defined agent that can encourage and integrate contributions, but while ensuring that the stability of the network does not suffer while doing so.

This worker is unlikely to make big enhancements or other potentially nonessential upgrades on its own, but if there is a specific issue really hurting service integration or usability, of course let me know.

Shoutout to @oxarbitrage, @ElMato, @svk, and TheTaconator (@Taconator ?) for their patches or other work!

Thanks for your updates! Much appreciated

Any updates about your worker!?

meh, cloudflare just ate the whole post with the stupid captchas again..

@xeroc, I understand the userbases are almost non-overlapping, but I believe there is something that we could leverage to capture (it's not either/or bitshares/steemit) a good chunk of the userbase from steemit.

And that is, personal finance.. and saving.

There is one initial big wall already on this line of thought, that being SBD paying interest, which BitUSD doesn't ..

But soon enough, with the growth that Steemit has seen, there will be users from other places with strong currencies - and if we could have bitAUD, bitNZD, bitCAD and so on waiting for them, I suspect more than a few would prefer holding their national currencies instead.

We could pen articles over time about diversifying risk and how money sitting in a bank isn't exactly risk safe, and how keeping some of your stash in SteemUSD and bitNZD may be a wise idea ..

Just seems like too good an opportunity to pass up somehow .. so many non-crypto people joining steemit, and all steemit offers is SBD (which is pretty good, mind you) .. I wonder if common, not-too-technical and not-too-financial people would be interested in diversifying into bitGold, bitSilver, bitCHF, and the others I mentioned .. we could advertise bitshares as the "swiss bank account in your pocket" that made the rounds some time ago ..

Maybe. What do you think ?

yep tend to agree ... when people realizing what money comes into due the postings they will search for a store of their just gotten wealth and BitShares would be the perfect fit IMO .. my 2 bts

just curious about the contest rules .. as i'm notcing people are able to vote more then 1 time for their logo uploads .. so IMO the vote on the logos doesn't mean anything about the quality of the published logos .. my 2 cents :P
