« on: January 27, 2015, 05:28:27 am »
Ok thanks, that worked. However, how do I find the correct one? I just have a website of the delegate, and the website doesnt say what his delegate name is...

I found a delegate that I think might benefit Bitshares and me. However, when trying to vote, i see 53 pages of standby delegates and no search... so how do I find the correct one?

I have come across a few delegates that I like, and they want to help build bitshares.
Can I vote for up to 101 delegates, or do I vote for only 1?

Technical Support / Blockchain trade

How does the trade over blockchain work? I have bought bitusd over the built in exchange, so I see it's working. I don't know how though, so can someone (send me a link to) explain how it works?

How does the asset creation work? I can create assets on the exchange, and if it's got a long name, its quite cheap? And its being processed over the blockchain? So it's a p2p asset exchange, where there's no censorship as long as you pay the fees to the network?

So this is a fork? What are the pluses and minuses? Will the whole community move over?

Great. I just download next version when it comes, and my shares are automatically there? Just what I hoped.

I saw a thread about bitshares pts. I have some bitshares. Do I have to do anything, or do I just wait around? I am busy with other things.
I'm on version 0.24 of the software I think.

Can I connect to some bitshares api? When I run bitshares, does it open some port I can send RPC to?

Good answers, thanks. So the total cap is 3.7 bil shares. Is the algorithm similar to bitcoin, half time every few years?

So then i should vote for delegates with low payrate, just so they can make a little for the effort of runnung a delegate, right? Why would I vote for a 100% pay rate delegate?

Technical Support / What are pay rates?
« on: November 21, 2014, 11:57:35 am »
Total newbie question:

Delegates have pay rates. What does this mean?

Does it means they destroy new funds, they keep them or something else?

What if pay rate is 50%?

How can these rates be verified by me? Some website or similar?

Great thanks. Yeah I can see how it can be implemented, but it makes more sense to have funds that can be trusted even if the internet goes down or you have other trouble for a few years. Besides, money that has no velocity are effectively distributed to other holders of money. Just like on the other side inflation is dilution.
