Bitcoin blockchain online wallet is an open source and it doesn't store the private keys on their servers, with that said, I wouldn't use them either. In an online wallet you don't know who owns your BTS, in any time the site is not available you won't be able to spend your BTS, I suggest you use a desktop wallet for better transparency and privacy.

I don't see why Bitshares wouldn't take #3, it's just a matter of time and patient.

from my experience poloniex deposit is slower than other exchanges, I use Bter and deposit/withdrawal is better.

Well you will still be exposed to bitcoin volatility whether your hold bitcoin or BitBTC, with that being said you will gain speed and also the yield.
