Technical Support / trouble syncing blockchain on mac
« on: November 25, 2015, 12:45:26 pm »
I set up an account in 0.8.0 last spring
I am trying to set up 0.9.3c to move my BTS into so that I can
then move on to 2.0.
Blockchain would not sync in 0.9.3c (started running in reverse !)
Have downloaded blockchain from mega but do not
know how to import (?) it into 0.9.3c.
I am using osx 10.10.2

Technical Support / Blockchain wont sync in 0.9.3c

I set up an account in 0.8.0 last spring
I am trying to set up 0.9.3c to move my BTS into so that I can
then move on to 2.0.
I cannot get the blockchain to sync, it actually is going in reverse, syncing
successively earlier dates.
How can this be.

Technical Support / 0.9.3c going backwards ?
« on: November 04, 2015, 12:54:48 pm »
For the last 3 days I have been trying to sync the blockchain on 0.9.3c so that I can move BTS
from 0.8.0 to 2.0. Having spent hrs watching it crash and stall, coaxing it along it finally passed 50%
and now is GOING BACKWARDS (syncing blocks further back in time).
Can anyone give me some advice or should I just kiss my BTS goodbye?
Thanks.

Technical Support / TOTALLY LOST!
« on: November 01, 2015, 05:33:26 pm »
I'm going to plead for someones indulgence here.
I set up an account in 0.8.0 last spring.
Then I left civilization as I do.
Now back, I went to check my balance and the wallet won't sync.
I also find that BTS 2.0 is out, but I have no concept of how to
migrate ( is that the correct term?) my accounts from 0.8.0.
Not being the most tech savvy guy in the first place I'm just lost in
the terminology since taking off to the woods.
Can someone slap me in the face, wake me up ,and point me to some
instruction.
I have downloaded the 2.0 light client in OSX 10.10.2
How do I transfer or access the account and BTS I stored in
BTS 0.8.0 ?.
I really appreciate any help.
Thanks

No, I cannot post the entire error message. I will not copy to my clipboard.
Is there a portion that give a clue?

Technical Support / Bitshares application won't start on Mac
« on: January 11, 2015, 06:05:36 pm »
I am a newby, but very old and therefore very stupid.
I am trying to initiate and register a bitshares account.
I have downloaded the latest BitShares  (dmg) release (from GitHub) to my mac and placed it in in applications.
When I go to start it a small window comes up to tell me that it "quit unexpectedly" Have done this repeatedly.
A report comes up with some code that is waaaay beyond my addled brain.
Can someone help?
