MemoryCoin / Re: Value of MMC Going down
« on: January 10, 2014, 04:48:37 am »
I've been developing software since the 90s and I've found it is pretty much impossible to get something 100% right the first time. I hope the next DAC learns some lessons from this one. I think a pre-mine for developers of known quantity to known addresses would be preferable to what occurred here.

Insider holdings of stocks are made public.  While I am not suggesting that cryptocurrency is subject to these rules there is a reason they exist.

Bot miners don't have any skin in the game- although it does seem to have let up. My guess that is what is depressing prices.

Since this is peer to peer you could have a board (like memorycoin) that would decide on any new modules to add(or adjust) to the wallet. They could digitally sign the module and it would propagate through the network (no forking!)

General Discussion / Any Coin
« on: January 01, 2014, 09:41:32 pm »
Instead of trying to make a coin 'cpu only', how about a coin that would allow blocks generated from SHA256, Scrypt or CPU? Difficulty adjustments would depend on the algorithm used and would be adjusted to seek parity. The advantage would be that the network would be supported by a variety of hardware making it the most secure and would pique the interest of any miner regardless of their hardware investment. With an open model algorithms could be added as crypt-currencies evolve.

Not sure if it is even technically possible, but thought I would throw it out there....

Was in the cold garage tinkering with my machines... as good excuse as any.
Happy B-day!

MemoryCoin / Re: [ANN] MMCPool.com - Win64 / OSX64 - LOW REJECT RATE

Miner improvement- in linux cpus drop to zero for a few seconds, sometimes for much more. I am guessing it is polling for new work. Any way to improve so cpu is always busy? I can run two processes at once with cores double loaded but I am getting more rejects.

You can have more threads than cores with no performance issues (unlike ptsminer) run 8 on 6 core.

Seems like the restart fixed the bug with balance not being subtracted from unconfirmed, but still wrong block on front page. Is that value stored somewhere in the db?

KillerByte, are you still having to manually trigger payouts? I am showing a balance of 6. Would feel better about staying on your pool if I actually get a payout.

Getting good throughput on your pool, seems like most  bugs worked out.

Can't you confirm which pool these are going to from blockchain explorer? What address is your pool using?
