BitShares PTS / Re: fast AMD OpenCL PTS miner released
« on: January 31, 2014, 11:48:36 pm »
so we roughly know... using NaN's pts miner...

R9 270X = about 100 watt usage 1000 cpm
R9 290X = about 200 watt usage 3000 cpm

Anyone have a watt usage on the R9 280X?

is it as simple as splitting the difference at about 150 watts and 2000cpm?

Hi there,

my rig is drawing ~ 500 Watts according to Corsair Link when shuffling 5500 c/m.
GPU: 3 x 280x
CPU: AMD Sempron 145

How do you measure Watts per GPU??

Thats what I wanted to know, thanks. And the pool seems to have got invigorated over the last few days. Lots of action.

Yes, pool hashrate increased again from 350K c/m to 530K c/m during the last two days (only top 100 miners considered).
Still a lot to go to become an equivalent counterpart to the other pool (7M c/m).
Maybe reorder could provide some more accurate stats regarding pool hashrate?

I just learned:
as the block length varies, the number of submitted shares will too vary, and thus is not directly correlated to the payout value.
At constant c/m payout will be more or less the same while submitted shares for a block are fluctuating (for all of us BTW).

So this explains why submitted share number seems not to be related to payout.

BTW: since yesterday pool hashrate (only considering top 100 miners) went up from 150K c/m to 350K c/m
This is gaining momentum !!! ;-)

Also wanted to check. My average payout seems to be .05 per block. This does not seem to change much irrespective of the number of shares. Is that normal?

On my side I also see no correlation between shares and value in the worker stats.
Could be an issue with the stats, though...

We are working on adding yam support now.

Great, I could then also point my cpus (8core opteron, 8core bulldozer, 8core i7, 4 core i7) to the same pool as my gpu rig.
Would I be able to use the same payout address for several workers (gpu&cpu mixed) or would I have to use different?

I am mining here since 12 hours with ~3000 c/m.
Up to now GPU mining protoshares on a pool with relatively low total hashrate (compared to the network) seems to be profitable to me, at least 30% more profitable than mining altcoins +lower power consumption (half!!).
I can just urge everybody to move your big rigs over here (even if it is just for a one week trial). I bet with a higher total hashrate compared to the *cough* other pool profitability of pts@1gh.com will increase even more.

Thanks for all your efforts so far!

---> Remark: 7 found blocks last 12 hours. This looks promising! The pool seems to be catching up in terms of luck?
