MemoryCoin / Re: Fork to Fix Difficulty Adjustment
« on: December 17, 2013, 11:42:02 pm »
I've just downloaded and started the new wallet, having problems connecting to the network, same as when first version was released. Hopefully this will resolve itself.

New version is here for anyone looking for it.

Did you click on the link in the email confirmation you received?

I know Cryptsy has been slow past few days I believe they are in the process of installing new servers according to there twitter so maybe that could be the reason.

Thanks,

That's a shame I was hoping they would be in a different wallet.

I've emailed the guy who deals with the wallet recovery about an hour ago, I think he charges 20% of the wallet, which I agree is expensive, but I think as a last resort it is going to be the best way to go especially with the price that PTS have hit over the last couple of days.

It's not a mistake I will be making again in a hurry lol

Hi,

I was just wondering as I have locked myself out of my protoshares wallet and am so far am unable to find a solution, does this also mean that any bit shares or shares in any other DACS I would have been entitled too will also be lost? or will they be in a different wallet?

Thanks

To be honest I wouldn't have a clue how to do that. There seems to be some code on the github site for protosharesd but no exe file anywhere I will keep looking but it looks like I may have to wait till someone decides to release one.

Hi all I was just wondering if I am right in thinking that there is no protosharesd.exe with the protoshares wallet like there are with other coins?

I have managed to mess my password up, even though I have written it down and the only solution I have found so far is using ruby and the 'bitcoind.exe' to brute force the password

any help much appreciated thanks

Got 3 VPS running:

Using all 20 cores, 56+56+28 RAM and have the miners running on them with 100% CPU usage.

Its costing me around 50$ every 24 hours so I'll probably mine for 4 days and a few hours before everything is shutdown.

To actually buy this would be crazy very expensive.

I don't think you need to use the additional RAM of the A6 and A7 machines, just use 2 x XL (14GB) and 1 x L (7GB) I'm getting about 90 col/m out of the XL and 46 col/m out of the L

It will probably last a bit longer time wise I think 4.9 days

Not sure but I think they only charge you for computing time (CPU usage), I did not mistake and have too much memory only using about 7GB out of the 56GB. Might look for something cheaper and rent by the hour, amazon spot instances seems good but I'll wait for a PTC mining calculator to be released to see if its profitable.

Yes that's what I mean, you have picked systems A6 and A7 which are more expensive, and will use up your free credit quicker and the extra RAM is pointless.

If you choose systems L and XL you will get the same mining speed but it will use up your free credit slower

L = 4 core 7GB $0.36/hour
XL=8core 14GB $0.72/hour

A6=4core 28GB RAM $0.80/hour
A7=8core 56GB RAM $1.60/hour

Once you have spent $200 of the free trial it will stop

It automatically cancels, I ran out of my free trial after about 1.5 weeks.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I think the time period depends on what VM you are using. Windows is more expensive then Linux so obviously less time.

I can only see 8 cores option. But the dashboard says I am using 8 of 20 cores. Will it auto boost to 20 cores? Or I chose the wrong one?

You need to set up more than 1 virtual machine either 5 x 4 core or 2 x 8 and 1 x 4

click the virtual machine option and then press the + at the bottom of the dashboard, it takes a few minutes to get running.
