BitShares PTS / Re: Wait what? 1% inflation?
« on: November 27, 2013, 10:48:49 pm »
I just read somewhere that Bitcoin will become rare and become like a collectible helping to drive up the price, the cap on amount of coins seems to be a bad thing for the common guy (me), I don't really like to think that any 1 coin in particular could become unreachable in a lifetime for the average Joe, it just kind of strikes me as weird that it will be at that point before I die, the way things are going with Bitcoin.

Random Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at the US Senate
« on: November 27, 2013, 10:25:06 pm »
Looking forward the hear what the senate have to say.

Here in Norway the media coverage of Cryptocurrencies have been low, the most recent case in pop media was this guy : http://www.nrk.no/kultur/bitcoin-historien-gar-verden-rundt-1.11327798

He earned a decent amount over the years.

But still no word from the prime minister nor any other members of the parliament.

Send them emails or letters or call them, here in my part of the U.S. we have local meetups that helped bring awareness to Btc, I am sure that helped alot for crypto currency, also I might say you could write to reporters and tell them you have good experience with mining (earning) and could offer them a story, politicians read the news, if they read about you maybe you will be the one in the future talking to them about it, hey you could become the regions expert on DAC's, unless your anonymity is real important to you.

Well now I may have to start another account there to get the discount through your link, 10% is an amount that will add up, for sure.

Thanx all, I made transfers to an exchange and it took soooooo long, are the exchanges not as secure as wallet's? Why?

20
Now that I have a few PTS I want to keep them safe while I use them, I need to know if an exchange is a good place to keep them while I add more to my personal wallet, has anybody had issues with there transactions on an exchange? Have there been times that you cannot access your funds? Any other pertinent information would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

Your right, its life would be dependent on the business of the company, removing the decentralized value were looking for.

If google was not an engine people could trust, or if there were far too many complaints about its methods of operation, those queries and phrases would not look like such a problem, nobody wants to fix what is not broken, but now if there was a problem you might see some very ingenious solutions arise.

Off the top of my head I cannot think of one query I might ever have that could not be found via google, now it is often that google points me to information that is not complete, but I imagine that it will show up in more detail given time, establishing a nitch would be difficult, and would fall back on arranging the financial incentive for the information to be submitted.

I have no idea how to keep cheating out of the picture, some minds will always look for a way to get an edge by cheating.

I think you are right about too-many DACs.   If such a DAC were to be released it would be as a TEST NETWORK to test the mechanics and not as a speculative play in its own right.

Too many from one source could be tragic, but implementing one to work in a different way that it had previously operated should be ok to do many times over, I kind of hope you could launch a test network, you do have quite a few volunteers for beta testing  :) I am in, I just hope a test network wont draw to many away from the main focus.

If you look at ALt DACs i can see it going the way of ALT currencies on BTT.
Why not have one called the CHALKBOARD where ideas are initially posted and if they start growing and taking root, they become actual alt Dacs

Ya I think your right, Ideas are great but they do not make something an alt DAC, and most ideas never really see the light of day, its not a problem now with so few post's but I am sure that board will be cluttered with idea's in the near future, like my own  8) http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1016.new#new

Reading through the idea's here has prompted me to just throw this out there for you guy's.
A company with a search engine could issue a DAC much like Protoshares are issued, user's of the utility could all be miners and have an account under their Kyhotee ID, when searching they could simultaneously be hashing, creating a wide distribution of the DAC, the company could accept the DAC for payment of services such as advertising, and by doing so they would be creating a reason to buy the DAC from the miners and also to accept the DAC as a form of payment. also the AP,DAC would integrate into this system as every engine needs good content.

Thank you to Bytemaster for the creative idea's here on this board, they inspired the thought above.

If I helped the gears of creativity turn your welcome to tip here  :) PdCHKpEdjqt7WRmGeuRmeyNkn8pzV12BSB

On my old phone I was thinking "maybe my phone is finally giving up", then when I was having difficulty on my computer I had to stop, look, and try to clean it up thinking something is not right with this stupid thing or someone is attacking the site, now glad to know it was just maintenance, whew!

This is getting ridiculous. I have 200+hps hash power and my estimated return is going backwards. Shame just after a week or so from launch.
that means more hash power is joining the pool, if you had kept track of your "est" before it started the backward turn I would bet that over all with more hash power at the end of the round you will get a better return as that extra hash power helps find more blocks, which means more people want PTS, which is a good thing for you if you have any, its a good time to buy them while they are low if you can't mine as many as you want to.

Coyote pool is up almost 99% of the time and has no fees.

Yeah but I'm not crazy about the 1 payout per day. No thanks.

Not to be rude, but how is this a problem? Genuine question!

That might change soon, we could see more often payouts, see here: http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=636.450
