BitShares AGS / [AGS-PARSER] Testers/Feedback needed!
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:37:54 pm »
I've updated my ags-parser v0.3 (see announcement) and it should now cleanly display all AGS transactions for all input addresses correctly!

I need feedback. Please browse to:
- BTC http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/4/btc.csv.txt
- PTS http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/4/pts.csv.txt
- AGS: http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/3/balances.json

Find your address/transaction and confirm the amount and address is displayed correctly! I've manually checked a dozen of transactions, but I need to make sure there are no issues with that virtual AGS-blockchain!

If you see any issues, please post your PTS/BTC address and the corresponding transaction in this thread! I will look into it!

Thanks!

MemoryCoin / [MMC][IMPORTANT] Miners heads up!
« on: January 02, 2014, 09:33:19 pm »
Lot's of GPU miners recently discovered this "GPU resistent" MMC to be profitable and the network rate keeps increasing.

With this thread I want to encourage miners to also support the community by supporting it democratic structures. 6 positions are being voted on. See the candidates below:

Currently the following positions are up for grab and votes are running:

CTO - Chief Technical Officer: FreeTrade decided to step back as CTO and opened the field for new entries. 2 candidates showed up:
donSchoe for CTO - MVTEctoAKRbPGwXbxaVU46KphsynmrVVC4 - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1861.0
emre & s4l1h for CTO - MVTEctogwRCHUvWZyNcqYMbrSdNXrFR6FK - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1852.0

CHA - Charity Award: FreeTrade requested the community for fresh energy in that area. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1877.0
donSchoe's Charity Proposal CHA - MVTEcha4La8HeNaewF4oaSFUwaRep8xEyR - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1879.0

Voting does not hurt! To vote for the candidates just send 1 statoshi (0.00000001 MMC) to any of the addresses above to cast a vote.

If you have questions about the positions and voting in general, let me know. 1 statoshi does not hurt anyone but can have a big impact on the community if you decide for voting!

Cheers

MemoryCoin / [CHA][CMO] Proposal for Charity & Marketing
« on: January 02, 2014, 11:40:19 am »
With all due respect to IsaacGoldbourne and his work to support Sean's Outpost I want to step up for the Charity Award and propose a new approach dividing the charity.

TLDR: vote for me as a charity representive for Memorycoin if you support me and my ideas on dividing the MMC Charity. Send exactly 0.00000001 MMC to: MVTEcha4La8HeNaewF4oaSFUwaRep8xEyR

Update: Support my work for the charity award and help me to fund indrastructure and administration efford through the Chief Marketing Officer position. Vote for me: MVTEcmoP92qAeS8nMmM41pQJxmMgeJP4N8

The charity award identity.
The Charity award needs a face and an identity. I will push things forward to create that identity with a new MMC-Charity logo and an embedded weblog explaining why Memorycoin is different and what happens with the charity awards in detail.

My approach on this.
Currently 1% of the generated are going to Sean's Outpost to help homeless people. I would thank for IsaacGoldbourne for doing this during the christmas time. But for now I think we should escalate this charity award on a more broader scale.

I'm planning to use the generated funds to create 3 major donations each week covering each one of the following fields:
  • Social projects: Persons or organisations who are working with and for poor/handicapped/etc. people. I want to support people who are left behind in the society and/or need special help with that project. This is the main charity project and covers mostly health and social topics. Examples would be Médecins Sans Frontières or Human Rights Watch.
  • Environmental projects: Persons or organisations who are involved in protecting our earth and the environment to preserve this planet for our children and grandchildren, for example Greenpeace or the UNEP.
  • Political projects: Persons or organisations who are trying to make this world a more fair and democratic place. Example organisations can be Transparancy International or the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Note: the examples are just to explain which sector I want to work on. I will propose canditates each week for every sector and the community will be able to vote on which person/organisation should recieve the funds.

A must for all projects is that they do not accept major donations from global economy players and that they are working as a non-profit organisation. This is to avoid conflicts of interest with the MMC charity project.

Me as representive.
I'm 26 and from Berlin. I'm a software engineer and daddy. Currently I'm working as a developer for a German NGO which is active in the field of political transparency.

Transparency is an very important for me on this subject. I wish to publish all donations I made with the available funds and explain them in a own dedicated MMC charity website. I plan to publish monthly reports on the work.

Support my work for the charity award and help me to fund indrastructure and administration efford through the Chief Marketing Officer position. Vote for me: MVTEcmoP92qAeS8nMmM41pQJxmMgeJP4N8

That way I am able to communicate the value of Memorycoin along with the weekly charity donations and can ensure 1) that at least 100% of the CHA funds are available for charity and 2) that the work in that area is not absorbed by unknowing or ignorance.

I'm willing to create a charity logo and blog. Furthermore I try to arrange interviews/articles in mainstream bitcoin media about Memorycoin, its democratic structures and the charity award funding.

I will be working together with the Support and Technical department to ensure the Memorycoin presentation to world online will work flawless.

With the funds I will hire people to help out on important tasks like graphics design (logos, infographics, ...), writing (blogs, articles) and so on.

Please, if you like my ideas, vote for me as a Charity Award representive in the Memorycoin executive board and send 0.00000001 MMC to: MVTEcha4La8HeNaewF4oaSFUwaRep8xEyR and MVTEcmoP92qAeS8nMmM41pQJxmMgeJP4N8

Thanks.

MemoryCoin / [MMC][CTO] donSchoe for Technical Officer
« on: January 01, 2014, 11:34:38 pm »
I've decided to run for the CTO position in Memorycoin 2.0 as FreeTrade mentioned to not necessarily wants to keep that position forever. I would not run this agains FreeTrade out of respect for creating this coin and all the stuff he did for it and around it. This is my thread to ask you to vote for me.
MVTEctoAKRbPGwXbxaVU46KphsynmrVVC4

About me.
Most of you know me from IRC and my infamous bot Sternburg. But that's not all about me :)

I'm 26, from Berlin, CET timezone and software engineer. I'm still in my master degree studies of geoinformation systems and working as a freelance webdeveloper currently. I have 2 kids - so most of the time I spend either playing with kids or sitting in front of my computer playing with cryptos and code.  8)

Why technical.
I'm a programmer and software engineer, know code, coding, compiling and all the stuff connected to and surrounding it. I'm doing it for money, I'm doing it in my free time, when my kids sleep, right now and ... yay, I want to do it for memorycoin, too! :P

My plans.
Firstly, I wont change a running system. Not going to tear down existing infrastructure or change the MMC PoW :D

I want rather keep this ball rolling. Like a sysadmin, keeping an eye on the codebase & repositories, keeping binaries up to date, crosscompiling superb solo miners for your ARM tablets and so on :p

Things I will work on if you send me your vote:
  • Improving the wallet and daemon client source for a better voting usability, maybe even a GUI addition.
  • Improving the votedebug output to be formatted as JSON or something better parsable.
  • Open-sourcing the GPU miner for memorycoin.
  • Your idea here.

I'm confident I can be an enriching member of the executive board.

Send 0.00000001 MMC to vote for me for the CTO position.
MVTEctoAKRbPGwXbxaVU46KphsynmrVVC4
Thanks for your trust.

I've written a ruby parser which displays AGS donations in realtime by parsing the BTC and PTS blockchains.

It's open source and available on github. https://github.com/donSchoe/ags-parser

See realtime parsing on my demo site  (v0.4):
http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/4/pts.csv.txt
http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/4/btc.csv.txt
http://q39.protoshar.es/ags/3/balances.json

Using git to backup the chain every hour: http://git.jdqirc.net/donschoe/ags-datafeed
http://git.jdqirc.net/donschoe/ags-datafeed/raw/master/4/pts.csv.txt
http://git.jdqirc.net/donschoe/ags-datafeed/raw/master/4/btc.csv.txt
http://git.jdqirc.net/donschoe/ags-datafeed/raw/master/3/balances.json

You can use it to create some nice angelshares sites and push the community forward. I'm no frontend guy, but would be nice to see this in action. The text version is enough for my personal needs :D
It's the first time I tried to programmatically parse a blockchain, damn nice experience! But dont expect magic and be aware of bugs!

Report them to me or on github or use this testing thread: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1989.0

If you like it, feel free to send some Coins my way:

Technical Support / How to encode a PTS address?
« on: December 31, 2013, 05:37:43 pm »
Hi,

I've taken a raw asm public key string from a transaction and followed this guide to convert it ot a base58 encoded PTS address. But the result does not start with P.... is there anything special about PTS addresses or did I just failed to encode correctly?

Cheers
don

PS, see also http://stackoverflow.com/q/20860641/1260906

The approach above was wrong. Can someone tell me step by step how I can convert the ASM Public Key Hash
Code: [Select]

MemoryCoin / >90% of network hashrate on mmcpool
« on: December 30, 2013, 08:48:11 pm »
Update: Now its 70% mmcpool.com and 20% mmc.1gh.com .... its a start! maybe GPU miners are starting to make an impact!

Currently the top 50 Miners of MMCPool are making a pool hashrate of 15665 H/min. The current blocktime is 10.211 minutes and the difficulty is 0.00004202, which makes a total network hashrate of approximate 17675 H/min.

That's 89% of the estimated network hashrate just from the top 50 miners on that pool.

@mmcpool owners: Please, don't do evil stuff.

@miners: Think twice about choosing a pool. This coin will be much more healthy if we had 2 or more big pools not 1. Look out extasie.net [forum] and mmc.gpools.com [forum] both offer a 20 MMC reward for found blocks. 1GH [forum] has just issued a GPU miner. Don't tell me there are no alternatives!

BitShares PTS / Collisions vs Hashs?
« on: December 28, 2013, 11:37:30 pm »
Hi,

this might be a bit late. I want to update the IRC bot from hashes/minute to collisions/minute but I cant figure out the difference.

This is how I calculated the initial network hashrate in H/min:
Code: [Select]
hashrate = (diff * (2 ** 32) * 60.0) / blocktime
But how to calculate the network collision rate in C/min? Is it comparable?

MemoryCoin / How to calculate MMC stats?
« on: December 28, 2013, 05:26:19 pm »
UPDATE: The bot is up and running in #memorycoin and ##mmc-spam on freenode.

Hi I need some in-depth information on the MMC network.

Please, can anyone answer me some of the following questions as accurate as possible.

Some questions seem to be trivial but I need a complete overview in here.
  • How to see/calculate current block height, difficulty and reward?
  • Whats the difficulty retarget time/mechanism? How to calculate next diff if possible?
  • Whats the reward retarget mechanism? Is it the same as in PTS?
  • How to find out how many MMC are already minted?
  • Is it possible to calculate network hashrate from blocktime? If so, how? If not, how else?
  • How to calculate the estimated time to find a block solo based on own hashrate?
  • Which exchanges accept MMC and where can I find the API?
I'm working on a better IRC-bot currently and need as much information as possible.

Thanks
--- donSchoe

PS:    8. What else do you want the bot to "know"?

Edit: Thanks for answering most of the questions already!
