MemoryCoin / >90% of network hashrate on mmcpool
« on: December 30, 2013, 08:48:11 pm »
Update: Now its 70% mmcpool.com and 20% mmc.1gh.com .... its a start! maybe GPU miners are starting to make an impact!

Currently the top 50 Miners of MMCPool are making a pool hashrate of 15665 H/min. The current blocktime is 10.211 minutes and the difficulty is 0.00004202, which makes a total network hashrate of approximate 17675 H/min.

That's 89% of the estimated network hashrate just from the top 50 miners on that pool.

@mmcpool owners: Please, don't do evil stuff.

@miners: Think twice about choosing a pool. This coin will be much more healthy if we had 2 or more big pools not 1. Look out extasie.net [forum] and mmc.gpools.com [forum] both offer a 20 MMC reward for found blocks. 1GH [forum] has just issued a GPU miner. Don't tell me there are no alternatives!

very cool thanks ! btw is solo still viable ?

Not really.

There is a new year event now. Anyone who found a block in 50 first block of my pool will receive a 20MMC bonus :D

Nice! I find a block every 12 days. Let's hope this works out.

Try out the bot in #protoshares on freenode IRC

Code: [Select]
16:10:31   @donschoe | .solo 600
16:10:31   sternburg | Time to find a block mining solo: 1.647 months, Turnout: 0.402 PTS/day. Please help converting this to <C/min> - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1737.0 - Thanks!
16:10:45   @donschoe | .conv 0.402
16:10:48   sternburg | Converter: 0.402 PTS = 8.14 USD = 6.14 EUR = 0.01114 BTC = 0.34582 LTC = 14.04212 MMC. Source: Bter (MMC/BTC, PTS/BTC), BTC-e (LTC/BTC, EUR/USD), Bitstamp (BTC/USD).

10hpm on 7870 and 20hpm on 280X, this can be slightly increased with overclocking. The coin is pretty much GPU-hostile, just as planned :)

Glad to hear it - I wonder if it will be profitable for GPU miners, or if they will stick to other coins. I wonder too what share of the overall hashrate you'll capture.

Anyway, congrats!

If the HPM is real it will be more profitable than SCRYPT.

if you compile GMMCMiner in linux and get
Code: [Select]
make: Nothing to be done for 'first'.
make sure you have qt4 installed and run
Code: [Select]
qmake-qt4 gmmcminer.pro
first.

The pool looks nice.

I am the author of this binary, and I promise I did not put any malware inside. But please do not trust me, remove any valuable assets from the mining machine and monitor its network traffic and file activity.

Thanks for clarification, I'm looking forward for any GPU reviews. Don't have any AMD GPU available currently.

WARNING! BINARY ONLY MINER CLIENT! BE CAREFUL!

Only use if you know/trust the poster.

Edit: I'm talking about the GPU miner, CPU looks good.

Bump, anyone? Whats a hash, whats a collision?

Please some miner-devs explain me how to calculate network collision rate... :)

BitShares PTS / Collisions vs Hashs?
« on: December 28, 2013, 11:37:30 pm »
Hi,

this might be a bit late. I want to update the IRC bot from hashes/minute to collisions/minute but I cant figure out the difference.

This is how I calculated the initial network hashrate in H/min:
Code: [Select]
hashrate = (diff * (2 ** 32) * 60.0) / blocktime
But how to calculate the network collision rate in C/min? Is it comparable?

Okay the bot is up and running in #memorycoin and ##mmc-spam on freenode.

Thanks for all the information.

Can I access voting information via memorycoind?

That's because ~7.3% of the final amount of coins (10 mio) has been given out to Memorycoin 1 and PTS holders.

Also the full block reward hasn't been paid from the beginning, it started low to allow everyone having a fair start. Full block reward started at 240, I'm not sure about the formula used before that.

Ah Okay. I need exact numbers, can I get them somewhere?
  • How many coins have been given out to PTS shareholders down to the statoshi?
  • How many coins have not been paid out between block 1 and 240?

4. http://www.chainbrowser.com/memorycoin/
3. reward is -5% every 1680 blocks
3---> Whats the initial reward?
280

Is the chainbrowser wrong? "Total Coins: 1,619,503.27" ???

My calculation says:
blocktime 239.3
hashrate 38164.72402095445
reward 266.0
minted 903714.0

Which one looks better?
