This is just a stupid mod guys. He's trying to "clean up" the thread by deleting what he has deemed irrelevant posts. He should have locked it and left it at that.

Do not attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. -Hanlon's razor

But why would they do it now in 2014?

Mine are getting deleted too... Recent ones too but they are flagged as off topic so maybe an admin is going thru and flagging posts as off topic

Looks like bitshares community censorship?

General Discussion / Re: 0.4.16 loosing connections and GUI bugs
« on: September 24, 2014, 08:11:49 pm »
today i am loosing after maybe 5 minutes the connection with the network. After restart it lasts for 5 minutes again. Is this a known problem?

2.
at the past when you clicked at the bid or the ask side the GUI would filled the fields with the amount and price and you needed only to hit the button. But now the it seems the "Total" is not calculated and if you hit the buy or sell button it will not confirm and a error occurs. - maybe also known!

When this is happening, I have found it would go through if I subtract maybe 10-20 cents off of the total amount. For example, if you are looking to buy bitUSD and your quantity is 20.0923 bitUSD, if you were to change the amount to 20.08 it would go through, or maybe 20.00  will go through. Unable to understand why but I have been able to get my orders to go through by changing the amount in the "cents". Might help as a quick workaround for you.

Technical Support / Re: Wallet intermittently stops synchonizing
« on: September 24, 2014, 07:44:38 pm »
Same here.

Wallet stops sync sometimes when it goes to lock screen, other times it's after I place an order. Can't seem to figure out what is setting it off but I am having the same issue. Restarting client fixes the issue until it happens again.

General Discussion / Any way to tell how many users are interacting?

Is there any way to tell how many people are trading on the platform?
Sometimes I see hours go by without a trade.

I sure hope *biophil* and *bluebit* (aka OP) got all the info they expected from this post.... On the same, note BM sure has at least 2 options whenever he decides to stop developing software -Those being teaching (Austrian/True) economics or being a politician....

I agree we should avoid asking BM for his opinion directly, making him feel bad for not answering when he has so so much to do and so little time. We should rather let him chime in when he feels like it or at designated events.

That being said, I don't agree that we should encourage him to code day and night doing little else. First of all educating people is a great way to distill something to its essence, not just dead knowledge, but live theory such as the DAC metaphor. Second, lifting ones head every once in a while to assess the state of crypto is essential to thrive in an exponential market. Third, making predictions and sticking ones neck out is a great way to expose your own biases (although bytemaster is based^2). Fourth, we don't just need massive amounts of coding, we need clarity, big ideas, and people who can integrate all the relevant information BitShares is facing to make unique decisions. Fifth, different times of the day - and week - are suited for different things. Sixth, engaging with and feeling accepted by a home base like this community (at least in small doses) is vital for enduring the harsh world.

Details can can make or break companies, but more often it is the big, strategic decisions or lack of decisions that make them crumble - or rather, make someone else race ahead of them.

General Discussion / Titan push?
« on: September 16, 2014, 08:42:47 pm »
Personally, this seems like a great point to make to anyone when speaking to the altcoin community.
A big seller for many of these alt coins is the thought of anonymity and transferring coins with out a trace or identification.

Just curious if this is being pushed or spread in anyway or if the collective bitshares community is holding off on the marketing to alt coin holders?

I like this :)

Hey did you noticed this here?

This is excellent and should be splashed.

Note: Swiss to be capitalized. And while I understand the common perception of privacy in Swiss banking, Swiss banks are no longer private in the sense most believe them to be.

Anyone can give this in a psd format?

Can whomever has the "master file" correct the typo in the bottom left? It says "interes", but should say "interest".
(cass doesn't have the file)

Also it should read "Your money can be seized and spied upon" ... just missing the word "be" for proper english.

General Discussion / Re: Is Anyone Still Holding Bitcoin?
« on: September 11, 2014, 12:29:33 am »
Currently, 2/3rds in BTSX and 1/3 in BTC but I've got that third waiting to be sold into at the moment for the "all in".
Also have holdings donated to the AGS fund so I guess I have some lottoshares too.

General Discussion / Re: TimeShares DAC

What exactly gives it value and I apologize if I'm missing something but why would this need to be called a Decentralized Autonomous Company, so far I feel like it's just an alt coin called timeshares and isn't really anything else. Doesn't cinni coin already have encrypted messaging?

Cool! Looking forward to seeing how this develops....and maybe getting my self some nice vacation locations :D .

I can see how this can use BitSharesX platform as TimeShares will have different values by location, time of year, current events, weather, etc. A futures prediction market if I ever saw one.

Would the properties be bitAssets?

I am thinking it is this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeshare
Hey Riverhead

This DAC isn't related to real timeshares
Maybe the name suggests that it does.
If you have suggestions on a different name that would suite the project better that would be nice.

However what you said is a great idea and maybe bitassets can be made for them.

I'm confused. What exactly would the "timeshares" be used for? What is their value?

Awesome!

Good luck, they're a bit ferocious at times.
