(1)ebit sent 50,000 BTS to blocktrades    at 2016-05-09 04:04 (UTC)

(2)openledger-wallet sent 20.47 OPEN.ETH to ebit    at 2016-05-09 04:06 (UTC)
We could speed it up by directly offering the OPEN.DAO, if you felt the delay was too long. But our current method does introduce buyers into how to make a trade, so it's hard to say what is best.

It's not too difficult to acquire DAO on openledger now with any crypto to you wish:

1) Buy ETH on BlockTrades with any cryptocurrency you desire and have it deposited to your OpenLedger deposit address.
2) Buy OPEN.DAO with your OPEN.ETH on the OPEN.DAO/OPEN.ETH market.

We are selling the OPEN.DAO at the current ICO price for DAO  If we run out of the current amount we've bought, we'll buy more and place them at the current ICO pricing. So if someone buys up the existing quantity I'll be happy to add more. The big advantage of buying on OpenLedger is you can trade your DAO before the end of the ICO. Just as an example, you can buy now, then sell it after the price change in 5 days.

Random Discussion / I own "dannote" account on bitcointalk.org

I'm posting this to confirm that I control the account "dannote" on bitcointalk.org.

Does BlockTrades support direct link to a certain currency pair?

e.g. blocktrades.us/btc-steem
Just noticed I never pressed "post" on this reply, so sorry for the delay.
Simple example is: https://blocktrades.us/unregistered_trade/btc/steem

Do you guys have someone on the team who is well-equipped to handle the cryptography integration challenges? I'm looking at the math behind mental poker, and it isn't trivial. The shuffling version of the mental poker protocol seems pretty straightforward but apparently it is too slow for the kind of real-time play online poker players expect.
Eric and I are both experienced at working with cryptographic code and we both have strong mathematical aptitudes. But we haven't delved into details of how we'd implement a random shuffle algorithm yet, because it's not needed for either the initial prototype or the initial "minimal viable product" that will follow the prototype. If it turns out to be beyond our skills, we can certainly engage others to help out.

Follow My Vote / Re: We Need to Fix Our Broken Election System
« on: May 06, 2016, 06:26:46 pm »
Any way the OP can change the title of this post to something like "We Need to Fix USA's Broken Election System" or "the election system of Sovereign Nations"? When I first saw it, I thought it was a complaint about how BitShares voting worked (although it may be an indictment of that too, don't know :-)

General Discussion / Re: !!!CAUTION!!! All public seed nodes down??
« on: May 05, 2016, 05:45:50 pm »
//Update:
I tried https://seed04.bitsharesnodes.com/info and found the p2p port is 1779. Is it supposed? If yes please submit a pull request to Github, like this: https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/pull/14/files
All your other seed nodes are listening on port 1779 as well.
yes, that's the issue. You were still able to get connections because other active nodes know the "correct" port of 1779.

Ok, got it.

I'm noticing the traffic is dropping off now. Probably won't be long before nodes loose sync and we're all notified by the telegram bot of missing blocks.

The situation if getting urgent very quickly!
There's no obvious sign of an attack, so I don't think you need to worry about the network missing any blocks right now. Simply restarting the problematic seed nodes is a fine solution in the short term. The concern expressed is more about the possibility that someone knowledgeable enough could exploit the vulnerability.

BlockTrades has added support for a bunch of new coin types (most recently Maker/MKR, DigixDgd/DGD and STEEM) and we're preparing to do an IPO in the next couple of months.

The data below is a bit dated at this point and some of the planned funding model has changed, but it gives a rough idea about our IPO:

Yes, you can buy STEEM with BTC. You need to do it from our web page (http://blocktrades.us), it's not available via the web wallet bridge since neither coin type is a BitShares coin type.

Edit: Oh, I guess you are asking if you can create a URL link that sets input as BTC and output as STEEM. You can, but I forget the exact syntax for it, will look it up tomorrow.

which DAO are we talking about?
the DAO token (confusing name, I know) issued by Daohub.

192
Awesome! This is a much better option for those unaware, at least from my perspective. You can actually see and hold your tokens (IOU's) instead of having to type your address onto the DAO's website to view how many you have. It would just make me feel more comfortable having something in a wallet versus viewing it on the blockchain. I don't know why, it's all psychological I guess, but I feels the comfort. ;)

I wish this would have been available sooner because I've already DAO'd myself up. :(
Sorry, I just found out about it today, unfortunately. If someone can give me advance notice in the future, I'll try to set these up ASAP.

General Discussion / OpenLedger pre-sale of DAO tokens is now live!
« on: May 03, 2016, 05:17:29 pm »
You can now buy and trade DAO tokens on OpenLedger prior to the official release of the DAO token using OPEN.DAO (DAO will be withdrawable at the end of the ICO when the DAO is made liquid).  By purchasing OPEN.DAO on OpenLedger instead of via the DAO pre-sale site, you gain the ability to immediate trade your DAO tokens before the pre-sale is done.

OPEN.DAO can be purchased on this market at current pre-sale price of 100 DAO per ETH:
https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/OPEN.DAO_OPEN.ETH

Suggested markets for trading include:
https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/OPEN.DAO_OPEN.BTC
https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/OPEN.DAO_BTS

BlockTrades (http://blocktrades.us) has added STEEM to its “instant exchange” engine, allowing users to directly buy and sell STEEM with many popular cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, BitShares, Dash, Doge, Ether, Litecoin, Nubits, Peercoin, and OPEN.USD.

If you look in the picture that I have posted above there is a BTC:BTS market. BTC looks very much like bitcoin to me. I have zero BTC in this market and want to be able to deposit BTC so I will have more then zero. It should be the most simple thing imaginable to do.
The confusing truth is that the BTC you are referring to is actually BitBTC, not BTC. BitBTC is a "smartcoin" in BitShares nomenclature (https://bitshares.org/technology/price-stable-cryptocurrencies/). It is a derivative whose value tracks that of BTC, but not on a 1-1 basis and it's not directly exchangeable for BTC (unless you can find someone willing to exchange it at that rate). Early on, the powers that be at the time decided to use BTC as the wallet symbol for BitBTC, so it's not an easy thing to change now.
