Thanks for the kind tipps. Just wanted to try to gather some guys from the community and go active.

sure 3i and no one else ever tried to leash anybody .. But I feel the community is eager and activly wants to participate .. although not in coding .. but maybe in articles, postcast etc.

I do not want to create a 'new' community. Just a site to collect infos and concentrate the abilities of all community member.

Sure my idea can use heavy polishing but that why I post it here

Earlier today I was depating a little with CLains and I'd like you to participate in our thinkings.

We were thinking whether we could rent a community server and decouple the BitShares community from invictus to have a real independent economy. atm we are all looking towards Dan and the rest of the Invictus Team all managed by BM.

My proposal would be to
1) rent a v-server for a few bucks a month (for the time beeing a small machine should be enough)
2) get the subdomain community.bitshares.org point to that server
3) set up service:
  - etherpad for collaboration (ie, live editing of the wikipedia article, documentations, etc...)
  - podcasts
  - a community magazine
  - technical howtos
  - market analysis
  - possibly webwallet (once we have once)
  - block explorer
  - financal descriptions
  - etc (feel free to add anything to the list)
.. all under community control
... all under one domain
... all paid by ...
 oh wait could setup a delegate to to earn money for the server. Maybe we can combine this with somthing like a community delegate (see https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=4582.0)

What do you think? Worth a shot?

I don't understand why someone would load lots of PTS instead of donate to loads of AGS...

Since you believe in the future DACS why pay something for $3.5 dollars instead of AGS worth less than $1? The only advantage of PTS is the liquidity and trading by speculating on the price, but if DACs are released and worth something is it not better to have as much as shares as possible?

I can buying AGS via PTS! Plus I can sell some if/when price goes up pre-DNS and pre-ME snapshot!

Are you afraid that the Invictus team have lost access to calenders or what?
Or do you have another metric for measuring weeks, that start and end on wednesdays?
