General Discussion / Re: 0.4.11 Testers Wanted (not mandatory)
« on: September 02, 2014, 04:01:02 am »
Not really related to this testing but something I just noticed: I think the logic for choosing which delegate feed is expired in the gui might not be correct. I believe feeds should expire in 24 hours, but some feeds are red which are less than 24 hours old. It seems to be the feeds which were the previous day calendar day, not < 24 hours (unless we are now on a 12 hour cycle, in which case I need to change my script to make sure it updates at least every 12 hours).

Thank you. This bug is fixed https://github.com/BitShares/web_wallet/commit/a0dcce95798e8b7b2533e16d0299b81b5e3dc882

bitsapphire, I think THAT is the best idea i've heard proposed in months. Has a viral potential built into it.  Who has the experience to build such an app? We should green light this kind of project. B

Another idea that has viral potential built into it - application that allows to send some small tips to friends on social networks, something like https://www.changetip.com/, or another good example is dogetipbot on reddit - I think reddit community did very well using tips to recruit a lot of new users, wouldn't be surprised if this played a major role in dogecoin success. Tipbot doesn't require light client, so it would be easier to implement. A year ago I've started working on something similar for Bitcoin (bitmonetizer.com) but abandoned the project, still have some code that probably can be reused.

General Discussion / Re: Confused by market order, please help
« on: August 26, 2014, 08:59:09 pm »
So why is it sorted from the highest price (33.998933) to the lowest (30.296) and not the other way round?
If the current price is around 23.50 surely the 30.296 short will be forced to cover first and before the 33.998933 one.

jakub, I think you are right, margin orders need to be sorted from lowest to highest. I've created issue for this, should be fixed in next release https://github.com/BitShares/web_wallet/issues/292

Technical Support / Re: Can't create bitshares-x wallet
« on: August 25, 2014, 03:09:35 pm »
right click the short cut, go to properties, click compatibility tab, then make it backwards compatible with windows xp service pack 3.
Thanks. I tried that, but I get the same result.
1) I uninstalled and deleted the appdata folder for Bitshares-x.
2) I reinstalled and when it says launch, I said no and instead went to properties for the icon and changed the compatibility mode.
3) I started the software using the icon and entered the same password twice and pressed create wallet
4)  A few large dots flash on and off quickly (less than a second) and I wait. Nothing happens.
5) I quit by using the menu option from the file menu.
6) I re-start the program using the icon
7) It asks for my password to open the wallet. I enter the password - it says "Wrong Password"

Could you provide us with more details on what happens on step #4? Is the button still available so you can press it second time?

General Discussion / Re: BTER Deposits - Double check the account name!
« on: August 05, 2014, 02:21:14 pm »
This is why the robohashes is very important concept.
Make sure when you send something to btercom you see this picture:

And I highly recommend bter to have their account robohash on the deposit page.
Here is the link http://robohash.org/set_any/bgset_any/btercom

1.when mouseover a link the mouse "pointer" dont get to a "hand".
I think it was better before.

2.when clicking "Transfer" and the the drop down menu on "from" only your 15 first accounts show-up, so you cant choose for example your 20th account from here.
It would be great if on the list don't appera zero balance accounts since you can't transfer funds from them anyway....

liondani, thanks for your feedback.

#1 This makes the application to look and feel as "native" one, not a web app. All the clickable elements are still easy to distinguish from not clickable.

#2 The drop down is fixed in this commit https://github.com/BitShares/web_wallet/commit/96b007b40948abcad3c2ca94d53dfee09c6549a5 so expect to see it fixed in next release.
Good idea to exclude zero balance accounts.

General Discussion / Re: SEO Help Needed
« on: August 02, 2014, 01:01:51 pm »
Before doing any SEO there should be a list of targeted keywords.

I don't think there is a big search volume for BitShares, POS, POW, DPOS etc right now though..
Later on, when BitAssets would be out, probably a bigger audience can be targeted, e.g. by "trading", "internet trading", "crypto trading", "short usd/btc", "derivatives" keywords.
Please keep in mind that SEO these days is a very delicate matter - some techniques used just several years ago might not work now and in the worst case scenario treated as spam. A very popular approach is natural SEO - just let it grow naturally, do a regular marketing, post to social networks, let people talk about and search engines will read all those signals and will rank your content accordingly.

Почему 21 августа будет последний блок и что будет после этой даты с PTS?

JLCkm83, имеется ввиду последний блок, который попадет в снимок. А PTS продолжит функционировать и дальше.

I don't know why lineman is giving me this problem. If I comment out the offending console.log function in web_wallet/config/server.js, I don't get that particular error anymore but the web wallet still doesn't work because the HTTP POST requests to /rpc don't get any response back. Have I not set things up correctly? In particular, I am wondering how the web wallet (the lineman process) knows what RPC username and password to use when making the requests.

arhag, if "lineman build" works for you and you are not planning making live changes to web interface, just edit your config.json in data directory and specify path to web_wallet/dist in htdocs key.

Русский (Russian) / Re: BitSharesX запущен!
« on: July 25, 2014, 03:11:06 pm »

General Discussion / Re: Dry Run 7: The Power of DPOS
« on: July 03, 2014, 02:22:46 am »
Windows 7 64 bit. I've re-installed twic and wiped app data both times. When I install and try to run the client opens and then disappears. No events in event viewer. Is this to be expected for my version of windows or, am I missing something?

It should work on Windows 7. Any log files in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\BitShares XTS ?

Latest windows binaries have been posted, now at version 0.0.7
error.
unable to execute file:
\bin\qt_wallet.exe

Gyhy,
What is your Windows version? If this is XP - it's not supported in by the latest Microsoft compiler in VS 2013.

Same error,  WIN7 / 64

Looks like this is an installer issue, if I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\BitSharesXT\bin and start exe directly it works fine.
