Marketplace / Re: [WTB] 10000 PTS @.008 BTC/PTS

I keep seeing these lonely and high prices buying threads, have you had many takers via PM or are there really so few sellers?

This is probably one of the few alts with a bright future

It's an alt with a Reason

In principle, any DAC developer can specify the terms of their social contract wrt to ProtoShares or one of its descendants.  The social contract we published for BitShares is that it would be initialized with one BitShare for every ProtoShare a person owns at the pre-published time of launch.  Its not percent based, its a one-for-one snapshot.  Other DACs from Invictus or other sources may specify different terms and conditions and the market will reward the ones they like.  The more different types of DAC shares that ownership of ProtoShares becomes good for, the more we would expect ProtoShares market value to rise.

Does that mean that Domainshares won't be given to holders of Protoshares?  I was under the impression Protoshares would be honored with every invictus blockchain product.  Did I misunderstand?

I would suggest people not use this exchange until the owner responds - I am currently owed .88btc and 310pts which I withdrew from my account but never showed up.  Silfax is not a shadowy figure so I assume this is in error, but until it's cleared up steer clear of this exchange!

I along with others have been refunded, although after seeing the problems I do not think I will be keeping many funds on this exchange until it seems more stable.

BitShares PTS / Re: We need a Protoshares Explainer Video

Is that on Invictus's to-do soon list?   Should this be a community bounty project?   It's a little unusual to have an altcoin that has a company behind it so I'm not sure if the normal groupbuy logic is in play here or if it's important it be done by Invictus

BitShares PTS / We need a Protoshares Explainer Video
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:33:50 am »
No offense to Bytemaster, but Bitshares doesn't need to be explained so much as Protoshares needs to be explained.  Since protoshares gives you shares of everything else Invictus Innovations creates, it's a totally different animal than any other cryptocurrency out there.  This could be explained very simply in maybe a 90 second video.

I was thinking we could crowdsource the script, I'm willing to work on it and have some experience in that area.

Thoughts? Ideas?

The alpha miner is down while Bytemaster sleeps,

Guys, too many things are going wrong and I am losing money running this right now.    I need sleep and a day without pressure to get this back up, tested, and reliable.

Please mine someplace else until I post back.

Issues to be resolved:
  - balances being cleared
  - protosharesd randomly crashing
  - pool server not detecting the crash.

I cannot sleep with this code running, nor should I ask you to risk your hash power on it.   I will let you know when I have a working pool with these bugs resolved.

It is close, I just need sleep.

I have your balances and will pay them out.  My apologies for any lost hashing time.

Regards,
Dan

Looking forward to seeing a re-energized bytemaster after this crazy couple of days.

Yeah, that's the promise.  I really like that for a cryptocurrency, it's like buying futures against a dividend paying stock, except the dividend 1:1 stock an entirely new company

Keyhotee relies on a blockchain called Nameshares, which will also be forked from Protoshares.  Also Domainshares and whatever else they decide to develop.

.01 was also the first price - I did the second trade with Bytemaster himself 500 @ .01btc, and miners came out of the woodwork - sellers dried up and the price walked down until it met buyers at around .002, it moved from there up to .0035 over the course of like 2 days and now that the difficulty has gone up 10x, production is a fraction of what it was.

We were finding like 2800 blocks per day instead of the 221 or so we're supposed to be finding per day, and blocks are between 35-40pts, i'm not sure where we are in that.

There are like 500,000 PTS in the wild right now - One assumes miners are holding back, I just wonder where they'll appear.

I'm no security expert, but Silfax's exchange seems to work well enough and he's taking a disclosed fee so it's in his best interest for things to work well.   I am personally trading on it in small quantities, if at some point one of the devs or someone reputable vets the site I might do more.

Any transparency on the order book or does this just go to your private information so you can match buyers and sellers?   Is there any assurance you aren't min/maxing and scraping a big arbitrage?
