Could we funnel our Guests into becoming Active Forum members?

Maybe converting guests has little value, but I for one see it strange we always seem to have 3:1 guests to registered.

A nice sign like "Stay a while and listen", as Deckard Cain says, "or register on the forum for free Digital Tokens."

General Discussion / Referring Celebrity Referrers
« on: November 05, 2015, 01:46:47 am »
Dear Cryptonomex, BunkerChain Labs, or any wallet company with a faucet:

Let's say I know a really popular celebrity, pretend it's Warren Buffet, who happens to have about 1.1MM fans on Twitter who are really into him because of their mutual interest in financial independence.

So Let's establish a scenario:

1) I want Mr. Buffet to refer his fan base to OpenLedger/BitShares.
2) He and I both want a percentage of his fans' total transaction fees.
3) If I establish an account for Mr. Buffet and he refers through OpenLedger, then he gets 60% of the transaction fees.  Which is great for him.
4) 20% of the fee goes to the network.
5) There is 20% between OpenLedger and Cryptonomex, who each take 10%.
6) The remaining question is this ... Are Cryptonomex and OpenLedger willing to make a deal with me to refer Warren Buffet to OpenLedger so that he becomes a referrer.
7) I assume all that CNX and OpenLedger would need is proof that I referred Mr. Buffet to OpenLedger and got him to tweet a link to OpenLedger.

Will Cryptonomex and OpenLedger make a deal with me to refer Warren Buffet?

Let's establish a few more details:

1) The agreement would need to be verified and upheld off-blockchain.
2) The agreement could be for the life of Mr. Buffet's referrals through a specific account

Does anyone see any flaws in this approach?

Look forward to referring celebs, as well as YouTube and Twitter stars.

Edit: TL;DR -- Can a Wallet and Faucet company verify 2nd level referrals AND Is there anything stopping Wallet providers from establishing contracts for referring referrers?

If someone were to pitch OpenLedger/BitShares to a bitcoin liquidity provider, what opportunity/benefits/mechanisms should be highlighted?

General Discussion / High Level Chart - Graphene Market Pegged Assets
« on: October 16, 2015, 03:49:01 am »
In trying to tighten up my explanations of the tech, I realized I need mental models for a lot of it.  This chart in particular was created to capture the structures required for market pegged assets.

One question, could it be arranged better? All feedback is appreciated.

General Discussion / Referral program - technical question
« on: October 07, 2015, 02:27:52 am »
Hey guys, what do I need to put before or after a link in order to have a Bts account linked to a referral?  Currently I am trying to do one for my blog, CertainAssets.com, that links to BitShares.org.

Btw, should we put up a referral program sub forum?

BM, thoughts on this?  Digital Asset seems to be sticking with the permissioned ledger for this one.

Impressive $5MM for a prediction market startup.

General Discussion / BitShares' Political Defense
« on: September 27, 2015, 08:37:07 pm »
On the 09/25 mumble session, bytemaster mentioned the importance of defense mechanisms for a distributed, digital asset exchange.  Paraphrasing what I believe I picked up, on the technical side, a network such as BitShares should be sufficiently decentralized to prevent very easy physical attacks, but the technical defenses may not be sufficient if BitShares is not sufficient in it its political defenses.  To increase political defense, it was suggested that the "mob" or large group of people find lots of value in the network; to the point that, if the the network were shut down, it would have large negative effects for the group who shut down the network.  I bring this up again to ask, how can we most easily and quickly increase our political defense?

One way BM outlined to increase political defense is by increasing the number of consumers using/loving bitshares-based apps.

Other than successful applications, are there any other ways we might increase Bitshares defense?  I have a feeling there could be some "growth-hacks" in this regard, such as putting a celebrity in charge of proxy or witness positions, but I am curious to hear what others took away from that discussion.

Technical Support / Map of the DAP Industry

Today I drew up some mind maps on the state of BitShares and the ecosystem basically as a vision check, and I'm publishing the first one here to see how far I am from clear vision.

What business categories or major companies in the 2.0 space would you add to this?
