Semper Fi.   :)

Ain't forgetting anybody? :)

Please abandon these bad habits:
- moving things around (like above problem with wallet.bitshares.org URL, why not use HTTP 302 to redirect queries?)
- serving Err 404 not found pages (Recently I deleted whole "bitshares bookmark" section from my browser because half of them were 404)
- changing product names (Protoshares PTS Bitshares BitsharesPTS. Man what a maze. I only hope BitShares is final!)

Technical Support / Re: Application initialization issues
« on: July 28, 2016, 12:32:47 am »
Glad to hear that it worked fine on Ubuntu.

Don't forget to store backup file on some other media. This is for all who read.
One day the hard drive might fail and your money will be impossible to recover.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Worker Proposal] Chronos Crypto videos
« on: July 27, 2016, 11:01:10 pm »
Update: as you've probably already seen, the next video has been launched, Buying Bitshares the Easy Way. Video production is again temporarily on hold, as the worker is just under the threshold from being funded, at the time of this writing.

Open to any feedback. Thanks for your support!

I like the videos so I voted on the worker proposal!
It was quite easy to do. No big deal.

Technical Support / More people with problems on wallet's chat
« on: July 27, 2016, 10:01:16 pm »
I think that it would be beneficial if we had volunteers helping people in the chat rooms (in the wallet).
Because they will turn away if their problems are not solved.

The wallet isn't superb easy to use.

And as I understand the only thing that is holding BitShares back at the moment is little to none liquidity :)

Maybe we could provide some chat_brownies or something for the effort.

General Discussion / Re: New Prediction Market Asset ETHWAR, advice?
« on: July 27, 2016, 09:48:55 pm »
   "is_prediction_market": true,

That looks all right.

As for the people using it .. you need to actively market your PM to people .. you can use a link to get them to enter it directly:
https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/ETHWAR_BTS (for instance)

I see such a problem that the link forces new visitor to go through registration first.
He can click "EXCHANGE" button but only smart people will be able to see what exactly the link is about.

Quite interesting.. Is it "smart" ?
Could you describe a bit more how it works for the audience :)

Another feature missing:

The mouse pointer/cross doesn't show the price level I am pointing at.
I need to guess or use school ruler and calculate :)

Expected behavior:
pointing somewhere at the chart should show me the price level I pointed at.
similar to the current price shown on the right side of the chart.

This is important feature!

You'll need to fill their taxes for them. Or convince tax departments around the world to accept taxes in bitAssets. lol

Good point, but that surely depends on particular country.

There are many fiat processors and they hold your money. For example in Poland we have many tiny payment agencies and they are surely to small to be seen as "banks" or "money transmitters".
The other idea is to treat bitAsset as token of "money while in transit".  I suspect there are no limits on how looooong does it take to settle the fiat wire transfer.

Similar to coinbase, I suppose.
Customer pays with crypto of his choice while BlockPay converts that payment on the fly to the merchant's account.
No need for the merchant to learn much about it.

Correct me if I am wrong: )

BlockPay allows any merchant (retail, grocery chains, restaurants, vending machines, petrol stations, kiosks, etc.) to accept one or more digital currencies at zero cost!

The problem is that merchants don't want to accept "digital currencies" since it creates the whole bunch of problems with regulations for them. Merchants want to accept local fiat money. The reason why you can pay with bitcoins in a bunch of online stores is because companies like bitpay convert bitcoins into fiat such that merchant doesn't need to touch any bitcoins. How is BlockPay going to get around this problem?

From my early understanding,
merchants won't even be knowing what the customer is doing. Probably just thinking its just another visa or whatevercryptosomethingCard. He receives fiat.

Id like to know what is happening. I put a few BTC into this. I dont even know how to claim my muse from invested BTC. Are there any instructions? Anywhere? This is all very vague.

The step-by-step tutorial is here:
http://docs.bitshares.eu/muse/migration/howto-exporting-wallet-btc.html

lightweight wallet feedback:

- flags on asset creation are ambiguous.
Please consider adding label "on/off" to asset creation flags or use color green/red or something obvious.

- active markets list
On the wallet's main page, above featured markets, there should be a row with the most active markets on the platform to attract traders!
Figuring out where trading takes place requires additional brainpower and brainpower is costly to use :)
Currently there is for example open.dao featured as first item. I personally would remove such items from the very first page. It makes false first impression that the platform is not being actively used at all.
The current feature list would be just fine if it listed the most active markets instead of dead ones!

General Discussion / Re: python-graphenelib: Release 0.4

I was hoping to develop using this library on a Windows machine.  The pip and manual compile fails with the scrypt part because it is missing unistd.h file.  As I understand it, this is a unix file that will not exist on windows machine.  Any ideas on who I can get past this?

VirtualBox is ultimately cool solution to develop on linux without losing sight of the beloved start button :)
