MemoryCoin / Re: Sort of an idea
« on: February 16, 2014, 02:43:27 am »
While everybody is trying to bring a new coins with new shiny cool features, everybody is missing the simple fact that coin is for paying. So why nobody cares about simple feature, to allow buy things with a coin?

It would be simple like this:
A merchant will put up a qr code with a wallet address and price in USD/EUR on his merchandise. Customer has an app in his smartphone that will read the code and get the current price for the coin on the exchange. Then if he decides to buy, the application will transfer the amount to merchant's wallet. All done. Merchant will receive confirmation, buyer goes away with goods.

We already have a wallet for android don't we? So all we're missing is to put this QR code function in and an application that shows transactions and prints codes.

What do you people think?

Bitcoin is used to trade, buy stuff. Every other coin is being made for trading and make quick cash. You can say alt coins are used to buy bitcoin which sucks as would be awesome to see a reputable business one of the  hundred coins out now.

General Discussion / Re: NoirShares Launch in 8 hours, don't panic.
« on: February 16, 2014, 12:06:01 am »
Well this is confusing as hell. I went to the forum in the main post and checked out a pool and not entirely sure its the right coin Noirbits as it diff is 8 and blocks mined already over 100k.

Very confusing and everything is all over the place with this new coin. Sorry barwizi but I have no idea if this coin is new or is it Norbit coin.

You should of prepared everything and just launched instead of doing these silly "PRE-ANN" that seems to be going on alot more now and having awful launches. Guessing diff started at 0 so some lucky miners instamined couple of dozen blocks.

Noirshares=fail...this thread should be move to bitcointalk now.

Back to PTS...

There is another "free" dedicated server trial, but I haven't tried this one myself and I've seen some complaints about it on webhostingtalk, but:

First off, there is this one, but I don't think you should use it?  unless you actually got the email about it.  I think only people that have an account there but have never gotten a server from there got this promo email.  It may work for everyone, though.  I'm not sure.

http://www.server4you.com/root-server/special-offer.php

here's the general free server offer, with servers that aren't as good:

https://order.server4you.com/pages/dedicated/index.php

The "Ecoserver Large" or "Ecoserver Big", the first month is free.  There are a few people that complained they got billed on webhostingtalk, but some others posting that they completed it fine.

I suspect even if you did get billed, you'd be able to get the money back either via support tickets (or even a chargeback).  My guess is that there are  maybe a handful of complainers and 100's that completed it w/ no problems..

**WARNING**

They tried charging my credit card for the full price of the server, luckily I had a VCC with only 2$ on it. Not sure if its just a glitch since my server is still online but emailed support asking about this issue. My server is still working.

Great find, just ordered a serer the start server (4 core-16GB RAM for 99$/month).

Its free for the first month but remember they charge 2$ to verify your payment and to make sure it has money in it  ;)

I used my VCC that had 2$ on it. In case they try charging for a full month they will fail. Just a precaution. Used my real info and all.

Will update when I get my login details and add it to the first post with a few notes to make sure you don't get charged extra.

Note to everyone: entropay.com is the way to go with VCCs if you don't to share your real CC info and personal info.

Thanks, nice find. Added to the main post.

Holding on still, could of cashed out about a 1000$ worth of MMC, now barely worth a 100$.

Will HODL no point in selling even one MMC at the moment.

BitShares PTS / Re: Mining Protoshares on EC2 GPU Instances - Question
« on: February 06, 2014, 06:00:40 am »
I don't think the output can cover your bill, given the current price, diff and block value.

Its not profitable anymore but if you are lucky and rent them for cheap then it might be. I would usually use them to mine new coins that come out that have low diff. Then when they are worth something just exchange them for btc then to PTS if your planning to hold PTS.

BitShares PTS / Re: Mining Protoshares on EC2 GPU Instances - Question
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:41:49 am »
I've tried running a GPU miner on amazon EC2 instances, I spent weeks trying to figure it out but with no luck.

The problem is that when you install the drivers, developer tooks for cuda...etc the miner doesn't seem to find the GPUs.

Try setting it up on windows I heard that you use VNC instead of remote desktop it works but didn't try it as I got blocked by amazon. They were asking for verification documents and wasn't using their services anymore.

That solves my problem, gonna test it out.

Google 2000$ promo was bullshit, they said in Jan they will re-open it but nothing happened.

Did you get the acceptance letter?  They didn't answer my BBB complaint so now the district attorney of sunnyvale, CA is involved (bait & switch fraudulent advertising).

I didn't get anything at all, when emailed me 2 months about waiting till Jan I knew they were full of shit.

Oh datasoft free month promo is back on just got an email from them about it.

@therapy thanks for the links will add that to the main post.

26
What ever happened to curecoin? Seems like it was just bs. They were planned to launch last year but still nothing yet.

MemoryCoin / Re: I don't understand cryptsy's actions
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:18:22 am »
It would be nice to see MMC on coined up, if its on cryptsy it will drop to a few cents if not less.

Sorry but there are some idiot miners that dump thousands as they mine bringing down the price.

Coined up has less pumps and dumps, downside that the site loads slow but there's never problems with depositing/withdrawing  which the most important thing.

MemoryCoin / Re: make BUBBLE
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:14:47 am »
Well its been stable at 20 cents for quite sometime even with the increase in supply. This is a good thing, the more stable the price the more chance people using it as a payment method. More mining means higher diff and less rewards per block. It will take some time but MMC will be worth more than it is.

Be patient and hold onto your MMC.

(Currently holding onto my 1200 mined MMC since the first days it launched, will continue holding for a few months atleast till block 32000).

Check datasoft coupon from the first post but it is expired.

Just took a look seems there is no coupon but it
says rent for first month is 0$.

I think you get first month free or you get te first month free when buying 2 or more months.

Better talk to support to make sure.
