I really like gambling so if you guys create different prediction market assets in order not to lose track it would be nice if @cryptofresh they could seperate these assets in a category of their own "market prediction assets" and these assets have a description of the bet

BTS fully recovered from the crash and is over 800.  Hold over 800 and there is hope.

(Because I post someone will probably market dump it down 100+ sats, because someone out there hates me).

lol... I don't think so...They probably wait until I buy some bts @800 and then it will crash to 500..

Has anyone ever used this site? How does this work? I wish we can have some easy implementation of this in the DEX.

Regarding the current bet I don't get it exactly. If I bet 1 btc and win I receive 1 btc? What if no one else bets? Who will give me the btc? That is a no brainer bet..bitshares will reach at least $40 mil within H12016  :)

Good idea..  :D
Don't use memo, use the market order book.
For example, if you want to sell/buy something, you create a webpage or blog post or google doc or whatever static with detailed description, sign with your key, and encode the url of the page into a number, then you submit a bid order in a special market with the number as price and/or amount. Others see the order, decode to the url, saw your request, then create a proposal for you.

Another way, (ab)use the committee member info data, can set a url there, update fee is 2 bts.

Yet another way, (ab)use the ASSET info data, can update the description, fee is 20 bts plus 2bts/kbyte of data. Oh, you need 5000 BTS to create an ASSET if not already did.

The golden grail is the "custom" operation, possible to do anything with it.

I didn't understand a single sentence from this post..lol... :)"sign with your key", "encode url" ,"decode url" are just not known sentences for me. I do hope that you guys make something easy for usual stupid people like me to use with a click of a button...

Let me rephrase...

As far as I know the memos are visible only to the 2 parties right? I mean if I make a transfer to someone and write a memo then only the receiver see that memo right? Is there a way to have an address to burn bts and other assets write a memo and everyone can see that memo?

the sending of the memos is 30 bts which is the base fee right? which is less than $0.1 currently. ..

If I want to buy something desperately like a medecine from the US that someone can just go to a pharmacy over there and just buy it and send it to me and I can't because of capital controls in my country or any other stupid reason and someone else can sell this to me I don't think I would bother paying a premium for that product or cover all the fees needed to send a couple of memos and conclude the transaction with the other party...

So more fees mean the DAC is more profitable.
The seller has the chance to sell something to someone else abroad at premium and makes some profit
The buyer got what he wanted
Everyone is happy...

Can we have a place, an address and put in place the most simple open market place possible accessible from the DEX? That shouldn't be difficult at all right? I am no IT literate so I don't know how difficult would be to do that..

I want to buy something from abroad and with the capital controls in Greece I can't.

How difficult is to build a marketplace within the DEX? Something that people can request to buy something and someone else has and want to sell it and the trade is done with bitassets? Even something really simple and basic..

Like I send some 1 bts to a specific public address created for that purpose i.e. "marketplace" with a memo "I want to buy xxx", everyone can see that memo so if someone can sell the product to me he can send me back a memo with the price and so on..

That doesn't sound very difficult and may be something that may attract a lot of people..

Ok...Now that the wording of the poll has changed I don't have a problem and would support a worker proposal for that reason. I will even start voting if we have a worker proposal to reduce the premium for bitassets..Just please never mention the word dilution in the forum even if the worker proposal is essentially that please don't mention this word..!!

Can someone please explain me what is so amazing about Nubits? I see them mentioned a lot lately in our forum and I really don't understand why.. What is so special about them? Nushares had a max market cap of $6 mil a year ago and bitshares had a market cap of $80 mil. Currently Nushares ar $3 mil and we are more than double that..Nubits is a bit less than a usd and bitusd is always at premium to usd except in the very beggining of bitsharesX..So what is so special about Nubits and we should imitate them?

You want some bitusd liquidity? I bet that if bitshares market cap goes to $3 mil, lots of people will short the hell of bitusd and a lot of bitusd will be created.. Do we want bitshares market cap at $3 mil?? Because if we keep talking about dilution I bet you it will go below $3 mil...

295
The word 'dilution' is a bad word to use in cryptoland.  I say we stop using it around here and not consider it.

Maker and lending are best for increasing liquidity organically in a more market-driven, p2p fashion.  These two features combined with some market making with the reserve pool should be the first steps towards increasing liquidity.

fully agree! Please let's stop using the word dilution! lending, margin trading, POS, developers accepting bitasssets as donations these things will increase liquidity. Please start thinking how to destroy and burn some bts and reduce their supply instead of further dilution..

General Discussion / Re: exchange preparing for voting
« on: January 09, 2016, 09:41:24 am »
why do you assume that an exchange would vote in a bad way for bitshares? No one can make this assumption. Maybe the exchange would vote for the interests of the bts it holds and hence in the interest of bitshares..I am not into voting currently since my stake is insignificant but I see a lot of problems with the current votes. There are witnesses voted who haven't updated their price feeds for ages..How bad is that? I would prefer an exchange to vote for it self and provide more accurate feed prices for example..

I would be very happy to see exchanges voting  +5% +5% and if their vote harm bts holders so be it  :( :(... Maybe bts holders will stop parking their funds in the exchanges then and maybe they start doing some serious trading in the DEX instead and bring some liquidity..

I did park my bts in polo in the past and used them as collateral to margin trade long and I overpaid that last time it crashed..Never again..So unless you want to do the same mistake and margin trade your bts I don't understand why keeping bts in exchanges anymore..Bring that liquidity in DEX or else we will suffer the consequences of potential absurd voting from exchanges

Yes, Emercoin price right now is approximately as insane as BTS at 100 million was.

wow...you think bts at $100 million was insane? I think bts at below $30 mil is insane and at $100 million it is just normal and should at least be there with the developments between then and now. it is funny to watch how perspective is so different between humans..

General Discussion / why all project raise funds in bts?
« on: January 07, 2016, 07:36:07 pm »
I don't understand, why all the exciting projects like OpenPOS, Obits, metafees etc in bitshares want to raise xx$ but price their tokens in bts and not only to bitusd? Raising bts may never be enough if bts keeps falling down or dumped by a whale like it happened today.

Why you guys don't simply request only bitusd? This will give you the funding required and will not have a negative effect on bts price. Not that the $19k that OPENPOS are requiring will have any negative effect but just saying.. Raising bitusd supports bitshares in the same time since people put bts collateral to borrow bitusd and you don't dump any bts..
