General Discussion / Re: 2016 Vision Blog Post
« on: December 29, 2015, 07:18:06 pm »
I like the OP's vision but I don't think you can have a successful MAS without first having a profitable DAC but this is just my opinion..

I don't like very much the new approach of @bytemaster about philosophizing and  not "build it and they will come" but anyone is entitled to do and say as he please..

I wish that we build a community that everyone is jealous about it and want to join. There was a time that we had a community like this before numerous mistakes and failed over promises. We are by far a community that other communities are jealous anymore..

I am a very very optimistic person and most of the times I live "in my own small clouds" so I still believe that bitshares will be something great eventually and much much bigger than what bitcoin is. I really hope that we become a strong community again, but unless we manage to somehow attract new business, new investors, rise our market cap to respectable levels and hold there for sometime, I think people will continue to complain and a mutual aid society will not happen easily. So my conclusion is make people some serious profits, make them happy and then MAS will be more easy. Not vice versa..

« on: December 24, 2015, 12:43:39 pm »
according to cmc, volume of btseur market on ccdk is $5,854 @ $0.087 price... Looking at ccedk I see only very small bts orders filled so doesn't make sense..

so either someone on ccedk btseur market made a big mistake and someone else got really happy and that is not shown on the order history either cmc just made a mistake with volume..

@fav
"1. someone could hack openledger and modify the code (grab your pw) - man in the middle attacks are certainly possible. hope they add 2fa soon"

That is a bit disturbing.. I hadn't realized that until now..
So keeping bts in the webwallet of OL is much much less secure than keeping btc in my bitcoinwallet on my pc, since most probably no one will ever care to try and hack me but most probably people will attemp to hack OL?
So we are promoting a decentalized exchange which is vulnerable to hacks as any other centralized exchange? If that ever happens then we can kiss goodbye bts price for ever..

General Discussion / Open Ledger by...IBM

"The Open Ledger Project, as is the name of this collaboration, is the brainchild of IBM"

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/12/17/ibm-jpmorgan-and-others-join-forces-to-create-their-own-blockchain/

@ccedk confusions will begin between your original openledger  and open ledger project from IBM..

+5% I like the idea a lot and I would be willing to participate and help the fund proportionate to bts market cap rise.
I mean I love the idea but at this market cap to be honest I need first to recover losses from holding and buying bts for the last 2 years and then once bts market cap eventually rises to the moon again I will be more than willing to make monthly donations to the fund.

So let's focus on how to increase the DEX liquidity first and increase our market cap, stabilize at high levels for some time and all the other great ideas like this one will take their course.. On the other hand without ideas like this one, we are not going to achieve our market cap goals..so count me in for just small donations for the time being..

General Discussion / Re: STEALTH / BTS Market now accepting bids.
« on: December 14, 2015, 02:15:38 pm »
If that is the case what is the point of locking bts for Stealth from now?

I guess the point of placing bids is to show your support so that CNX can estimate how their priorities should be aligned.
It's a kind of voting with your money for specific features to be implemented. At least that's how I understand it.

I understand the same thing as you but I want to make sure we understand correctly since that just doesn't make any sense...
1) I can place a bid for 10 mil bts (i wish i had them) @ 30 and show my enormous support to stealth just to withdraw my bid before launch?
2) Why place a bid now since by the time of launch bts price will have significantly changed so the equivalent of the Fair market bid of 12 bts to make $45k usd will not apply by the time of delivery
3) it would make much more sense to bid in biusd and not in bts, so onceupontime can actually share the usd risk of his investment with other members..

How long can one place a bid for the stealth asset? Until it is delivered i.e. Feb 2016? If that is the case what is the point of locking bts for Stealth from now?

I want to make sure I understand correctly because I do not want to miss my chance to bid..
thanks
