General Discussion / Re: BTSX 0.4.13 was just posted by DAC Sun
« on: September 12, 2014, 05:09:32 am »
I compiled the version 0.4.14
but after checking the tag 0.4.14:

git checkout 0.4.14

this error appears:
error: pathspec '0.4.14' did not match any file(s) known to git.

should I trust this release?

They changed the version tag naming convention.
Code: [Select]
$ git tag
...
0.4.12
0.4.13-RC1
...
v0.4.13
v0.4.14

delegate.bitder updated to 0.4.12 and updated version info.

Through most if Bitcoin's history, it increased in value an order of magnitude in price 7 times, and all but one of those was in almost exactly 6 months.

Could just be Mark Karpeles manipulating the [mtgox] btc market with his willy bot.

General Discussion / Re: Max Keiser Clip

Just to fix Max Keiser:
If you shutdown the internet you can surely store your coins on a paperwallet .. to be more precise .. you can store the privkey on paper that allows to access satoshis on the blockchain

BUT you will not be able to send a transaction WITHOUT internet ...

people need to realize that this kind of tech ONLY WORKS ONLINE! ...

You don't actually need Internet. You only need electricity. You can transmit using any electronics means such as visible light, microwave, or radio.

General Discussion / Re: Was TITAN a bad idea (terribly timed feature)?

I think we should also support transfers to an address.
I see account registration/bootstrapping as an obstacle to btsx adoption and capital inflows into the ecosystem.
(someone who buys btsx on an exchange will now have to register on this forum, potentially giving up some private info in the process, and then ask for funds to register an account)

Can you vote delegate.bitder back in? It had 100% reliability for at least the last 50K blocks up to the 0.4.8 hard fork.
Thanks

Technical Support / Re: git checkout how-to for Linux
« on: August 24, 2014, 05:47:33 am »
You are running 0.4.7
The about output shows that it's commit 987d55167097aceab2fdf7ba98bc6ff0c255378d which is tagged in the git repo as 0.4.7
You can use gitk to view the commits and tags.

I asked in another thread, but I think this is the appropriate thread to ask in.

How can I find out if I'm running the 0.4.7 client on Arch Linux OS?

I had just built from git about 10 minutes ago and I can't seem to see the version 0.4.7 anywhere.  I don't have good eyes, so it could be I'm just missing it.
