I'm in favor of a frequently updated company blog with a newsletter that might contain more specific information, but really should just be a way for people to have news delivered to them if they dont want to visit the blog.

I look forward to your show twice a week, it's almost a ritual for me.... and now your poking around in my favorite alt community. It's too cool! Glad your here buddy.

I'm valuable doing the show because I live and breath this stuff.   Protoshares and invictus are a big deal, but not the only one :)     I wrote a paper you might be interested in
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PBjrpMBViJh1-QrWJ80XMcQmhqcG3NhhoeSn0C_ML7Y/edit?usp=sharing

Just skimmed it but it looks like a description of DACs? what they are, how to fund/create them, and a little philosophy.

seems like stuff I already understand but great paper for people trying to wrap theirs heads around all this.

BitShares AGS / Re: Changing forum time to UTC time zone for AngelShares?
« on: January 04, 2014, 06:52:16 pm »
I don't care about the forum, But we should not change the angelshares allocation time. We have already started, we are all over the world, and we should not deviate for those unhappy with their sleep schedules.

In one of the recent Lets Talk Bitcoin podcasts....

http://letstalkbitcoin.com/e71-blockchain-tools-and-litecoin-devs/#.Usc5P2RDuPA

Charlie Lee mentions someone who is starting a payment processor for people who want to stay entirely in crypto, but why use a company when you can use a protocol. This has got to be possible with DAC. Could the idea's in Keyhotee and Bitshares be leveraged to do something like this.

1. Allows Merchants to accept a wide variety of crypto's and crypo assets.
2. Converts them into bitcoin (or currency of choice).
3. Sends bitcoin to merchants wallet.

Why would anybody short fiat at a 5% tax? It may be that volatile in the future but that seems crazy right now. If no one shorts it how is bitusd created?

You can short against any asset, 5% may not be so unreasonable if you think USD will fall against oil/bts/btc/gold/silver. That said, I think you have a point given how much of an emphasis on currencies there is in the current root chain plan.

That is awesome.

One more question. That is 5% a year right?

Is this fully open source and decentralized? Like a distributed anonymous marketplace?

Very interesting. This is a good idea.JUST do it ,You can use the same method as the AGS to complete your thoughts!

Good point, I actually hadn't thought of that. Now, I understand that AGS is sort of a distributed Kickstarter, at least I think, the thing I don't understand is how you keep track who donated what. Would it be a manually intensive process to keep track of who donated what and when? Or is there a way to automate it?

When a DAC launches it's Genesis block initializer scans PTS and BTC block chains.  For PTS, it uses all unspent outputs as of the specified launch block.  For AGS it reads the Angel addresses and computes who donated how much each day. (It also reads the Keyhotee Founders donations and computes their Day 1 AGS).  Then it issues those shares in its genesis block.    All this info is public information available to everyone.

Code to do this will be available in the DAC developer's toolkit so any honorable developer can incorporate it with ease.

I sent the PTS for my Keyhotee ID from an exchange. Is this a problem?

General Discussion / Re: Why I am no longer supporting Invictus-Innovations
« on: December 31, 2013, 06:55:26 am »
I know I got to this thread late but in response to the OP,

You are entitled to your opinion... Then leave.... I am sticking around, I believe in Dan and Invictus I have invested in protoshares, and I plan to sink another 200+ btc into angle shares in the coming months. I believe in the vision, I've seen bytemaster's history both in general and on DAC's (bitcoin included) and I believe he is the man to pull this off, and I'm behind this team until it succeeds or crashes and burns. It's to bad you don't feel the same OP but I wish you the best of luck. Dan n team.... I am amazed by the idea's put forth in this forum on a daily basis. I have not been this excited since I discovered bitcoin. Cheers

(fap fap fap I know, I should post this to r/circlejerk)

I am also curious if anyone knows whether the assets mentioned in the OT video are more like colored coins or bitshares.

Everything they are doing thus far is colored coins (digital bearer bonds).

I see. This is pretty cool. So it's essentially just a nice looking user friendly bitcoin client that is integrating the cutting edge bitcoin features currently being added to the btc source.

We should just think of it as a new age bitcoin client. Keyhotee on the other hand is a protocol level above this. Keyhotee will manage many different crypto currency clients as well as the other features discussed (communications, password management, Identity, ect.)

Am I thinking about this in the right way?

MemoryCoin / Re: [CEO] Preparing For The Top 10

Will start posting on memorycoin.org soon!

I hope to hire somebody who can help with the news blog regularly. But if you have somebody in mind let me know.

I would be interested, I have prior experience blogging for http://washingtonbus.org/ when I was in highschool, and I am now studying economics at university. Been into cryptos for a while now and have a good understanding of the technical side of p2p systems and private/public key cryptography.
