Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Founder ID Registration Process
« on: January 30, 2014, 06:58:31 pm »
Hey everyone,

I have a question I was hoping someone could answer.

I have downloaded the alpha release of keyhotee and I created the identity I want to have my founders ID attached to. I forgot to save my Public key however. My question is wether my public key is the same as the key that comes up when I try to create the same identity again and it wont let me?

Also I don't have the address I used to pay for my Founders ID. Do I need to put in a "founders code" and if so can I go back and do it now that I have already made the ID I want? Will the registration form on invictus be enough to secure my ID?

How should I proceed?

Hey, running the OSX client. This may be a stupid question but how do I know my public key? and I can create multiple identities within keyhotee?

You can create multiple identities.  New Identity menu.

If they are for different people, then you will want multiple profiles rather than 2 identities for one person.

So after running keyhotee I need to create my first identity, which will be my founders address. how do I generate a public key? If I hit new identity is asks me for a public key and a founders code.... I have neither.

One has been produced and is available for download in the bounty thread, but it appears to be more buggy than my natively built version.  You can give it a try and hopefully you will be able to register your ID.

Thanks bytemaster.

General Discussion / Re: BitShares X Status Update
« on: January 18, 2014, 09:47:54 pm »
Today I took some time off from C++ development to help get our website under control before Miami.  To that end I am pleased to share the latest draft of the BitShares X and Invictus.io site:  http://invictus.io/bitsharesx.php

Obviously we have more work to do, but it is certainly better than anything we have had thus far.

Looks good! Might I suggest a little more of a clear separator between the "differences" columns.

Hey everyone. Mac user/keyhotee founder here. Just wondering what the stats of the OSX client is. Would love to be able to register my founders ID. Last I heard I believe Toast was working on this but I'm not sure.

General Discussion / Re: Ethereum - better than Bitshares?
« on: January 18, 2014, 09:35:46 pm »
Hi all,

Ethereum (often considered a Bitshares alternative) is about to launch soon (6 days / 25.1.2014)...
Do you think its better than bitshares? Why yes, why no?
Is it better to invest 100% in Ethereum instead of indirectly investing 1:10 (PTS share of bitshares is 10% only)
into bitshares right now? Can bitshares outperform ethereum by factor 10?
Really thinking about it where to invest and its a tough decision.. so whats your oppinion on that and why?

Hey, i'm a big fan of Ethereum but you've got your numbers wrong, they are starting fundraising at the end of this month.  They anticipate releasing a product I believe right before the toronto conference in April

Do you have any details about the fundraising Adam? The website is a little sparse.

You suck, leave.

Quote from the article

"Aside from the obvious caveat that there could be as of yet uncovered critical mistakes in the software, there are stakeholders out there who presently own more than 50 million out of the total 1billion coins issued. This means there are multiple individuals who individually own more than 5% of the total stake each."

I'll start with I know almost nothing...but...

wouldn't a model similar to localbitcoins be easier to implement and more pliable to a decentralised structure? it could provide a single platform but with multiple competing escrow services...

just a thought

is not a very efficient method to trade...

Also much more susceptible to fraud.

Could you elaborate a little? I don't have a full picture of what you're talking about from this post. Also the link to the current white paper doesn't lead to a white paper ( or is that where you want people to post contributions? ).

PS. Minufacturing.... play on words or typo?

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Angel Shares & BitShares Allocation
« on: January 11, 2014, 10:20:46 pm »
Bitshares 2 and all DACs afterwards, sponsored by Invictus will have a 10% PTS and 10% AGS allocation.  Only Bitshares 1 is 50% PTS and 50% AGS

This is one very likely possibility, but we only guarantee that supported DACs must have at least 10% of each.  Our position is that each DAC must be free to allocate the final 80% according to its funding needs, business model, and marketing strategy.

What makes sense for BitShares BEX will probably not make sense for BitShares LKS, for example.  They have completely different client demographics, business models, and marketing strategies.

Can I just get some clarification. The initial bitshare chain will be the first of many chains under the flag BEX yes? It's not like we get 50/50 of the first 16 assets then 10/10 for the next chain of another 16 assets. The asset exchange although encompassing multiple chains will only honor BEXshares? When referring to subsequent bitshares chains we are talking about domainshares and luckyshares and so on yes?
